Cause most people from Quebec do have an accent. He talked about it in an old interview and he didnt grow up in a bilingual environment he just watched tv and mimicked the accent and got it. Most of my friends are bilingual and started learning english at 4-5 year old and I'm the only one that doesnt have an accent. I'm not surpised that poeple are surprised :)
