  • The most underrated island in. the Philippines, this place has hardly any tourists yet looks like the Hawaii of the Philippines with Volcanos, mountains, beaches and waterfalls. Camiguin island in Mindanao will not disappoint you, with Katibawasan Falls, Tuscan falls and White Island and the sunken cemetery with even visit a strange soda water pool!

    I lived in Camiguin as a rural medical doctor for one year. I regret not goung back to practice there as I love the island so much abd make it a point to visit once a year. It has changed so much but so many parts are still the same. And life is still languid, simple and slow. Hope it stays that way for a long, long time!!

    Remembering my young adult years spending weekends there in Camiguin. One more place you might want to check out would be the Sto. Niño cold springs in Catarman, Camiguin. It's the exact opposite of Ardent hot springs. Also, since you have a bike with you, just travel around the island's circumferential road so you can see the different municipalities.

  • @fkoff7649
    @fkoff7649 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Camiguin is best kept unknown. A lot of tourists would destroy the place making it polluted, then it will lose its serenity and more people or tourists would drive the prices up. It will become a tourist trap instead of a true nature paradise, so it's best to be kept lowkey. PH is better with low tourists compared to Thailand, Bali, despite the many incredible things PH can offer and also the benefit the revenue can do from tourism, but places like Camiguin should be off the radar for a lot of people in that way it will not be commercialized and be able to retain its natural peace and beauty. El Nido and Boracay were once like Camiguin, so hopefully Camiguin can keep its tranquility. Anyway, if Camiguin will become too touristy one day there are still other many unknown but beautiful and spectacular places in PH that are yet to be discovered. Great shots btw.

    • @TropicalOceanCleanup
      @TropicalOceanCleanup ปีที่แล้ว

      Too late, it is already polluted from the residents. That is where I come in.,....saving this island for future generations to come.

    • @fkoff7649
      @fkoff7649 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TropicalOceanCleanup the natives / the residents who have been there weren't the ones who polluted it. It's usually the tourists both local and some foreign who do that.

    • @TropicalOceanCleanup
      @TropicalOceanCleanup ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fkoff7649 Some might think that, check my channel government here dipped the ball on waste management. Many residents have no options. That's where I come in stopping it before it gets into the ocean. Big increase in pollution recently, was so much cleaner when I moved to Camiguin in 2007.

    • @fkoff7649
      @fkoff7649 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TropicalOceanCleanup I actually bumped into your channel not so long time ago and we thank you so much for putting in your best effort to save Camiguin and some parts in Mindanao, and mother nature in general or the environment. You may not hear this often but I just want you to know that I salute you for your initiative and for being persistent in achieving your goal to keep the environment clean. It's such a bummer that the govt both local and national isn't doing much about the cleanliness of the surroundings or keeping the environment clean and all that, that's why I myself contribute in my own little way by not throwing garbage anywhere. If I have enough time in the future, I'll definitely have programs like yourself but in my case, go visit schools and the dept of education to encourage children or to teach them the value of proper waste disposal and some means of keeping the environment safe and clean but yea you said yourself Camiguin was a lot cleaner way back in 2007, so like I was saying earlier, the locals or the natives, the people who's lived there for many decades already kept the environment clean. It's just with the new generation, or the other locals who moved there and some tourists both local and foreign in a way contributed to the worsening of the environmental disturbance and pollution there, but then again, we thank you for doing your best, although you shouldn't be doing it since it's the govt's responsibility and the citizens, but still you have care and initiative, so thank you so much. God bless you and may more people like you have care or concern for the environment.
