I really don't think there is any analyst who can examine court exhibits (for verification or what), knowing very well that the results are meant for courts, who would not make detailed notes of his/her work? Not to mention a person of her experience and kind of employment. I once worked in an analytical & research lab, where we were analysing any anything within our scope. However, we would always ask clients about the reason(s) for the analysis becoz we were concerned about those results that involve courts of law. Those would need to be conducted with a much more through record of methods, etc; as opposed to other analysis were client just want to verify certain things about the sample s/he brings without disputes involved.
