  • Demonstrating and attempting accuracy with the legendary Browning Hi-Power hand gun. This awesome pistol is the predecessor to so many of today's top designs, and still holds it's own quite well. Look for a table-top review, and possibly more shooting videos with this gun in the future.

Nice! We have the exact same model Mine was made in 1972 with the same sporting sights. FN Hi Power Sporting Manufactured & Assembled in Belgium! Great reliable gun and I use it as my duty gun for work, my EDC as well as my USPSA gun. I have 1 original Mag and 3 aftermarket Mec Gar mags (1) 13 rounder & (2) 15 rounders. Fantastic firearm and extremely accurate and reliable!

This is a great gun. It's more fun to shoot and you get best accuracy if you remove the magazine-drop safety which keeps the trigger from moving freely.

Complete steel construction, used in WWII for both sides, still in production for over 75 years served forces in over 80 countries. You feel the quality of this pistol just holding it feel solid.
A lot of high quality after market customs kits and parts are available, even kits cal .40 and .22.
I have one 75 anniversary and i love it.
Steel is for weapons, plastic for toys.

This was my wife's sidearm during her 18 years service in the British Army. She is quite modest about it but she said it was "nice & easy to use" say's enough eh !

I had an 1982 FN Hi Power. It was perfect. Accurate, smooth trigger pull, well made and compared to modern 'sub compacts' it is far easier to conceal due to the thin frame.
Only drawback was it was single action. To carry it, had to either be made ready, or carried with the hammer back on safe, weakening the hammer spring.

Like the honesty. It's more about the enjoyment of shooting and the appreciation of the firearm.

There's a reason Grandad and the 80's Jamaican Shower Posse favored them; Steel+13. Gaston Glock was JMBrowning's' Bastard Austrian Child. Shout-out to Springfield for their "new" SA35 . Fine work Gentlemen...

The trigger, grips, springs, and controls are all readily upgradeable, along with the tools to make it easy(er) all the way to custom finishes, fabrication of extended beaver tails and machining the slide for custom sights (see Robar's customs) to make these things serious shooters not to mention beautiful and high quality.
15 round, standard length magazines from MecGar and extended mags from 20 to 32 rounds are available so you can keep up with the high capacity Joneses. (The P35 was the first pstol to offer a 13rd capacity which is why it was called the Hi Power).
British special forces use Hi Powers, almost exclusively so, because of the slim, tough, reliable and easy to carry and maintain platform as well as many other military and LE groups who simply won't use anything else.
The trigger disconnect was a requirement for the contract because the military didn't want fresh, stupid, children-recruits (as young as 16) shooting each other while thinking it was unloaded because the magazines was out. It is removed easily enough to render a glassy smooth, crisp trigger with lower pull rate. If you've never shot one, do so before you judge. If you've never shot a custom piece, do so and you'll be sold for life. They continue to be one of the most popular pistols and highest demanded pistols in the world after so many years for a reson.

those are great guns! another one of JMB's best! I'd really like to get one. I also love shooting at clay targets with rifles and pistols. I went shooting with a guy who had a competition style .22 rifle with a really nice scope. we set some clays out at 100 yards, shot them, then shot the pieces! Great cheap fun!

To say that Colonel Parsons of the U.S. Army was an epic pistoleer would be an understatement. He was assigned to the 8th Infantry, where his skill with this sidearm made the difference against entrenched German forces. Sadly, Col. Parsons was killed in action when he and his men took over the French city of Rennes.

S'up Bro. Just sub'd. The Hi-Power is an awesome pistol. My pops has one in .40 S&W so I have lots of trigger time on it. Great ergos, accurate, respectable firepower, reliable. Glad you enjoyed it! I really like your hanging clays.

The 1911 has a slightly curved, (nearly flat) parallel-to-the-ground type trigger that extends out of the grip of the gun, as opposed to the Hi-power having a reasonably curved trigger dropping down from the barrel. I know what I just described was probably pretty hard to understand, and oh my god i just realized the comment i'm responding to is 2 years old

This was not coinvented by john browning. He died before the design was completly finish which fn herstal finished so was cofinished by fnh. Any person would know that

    • @MtnBadger
      @MtnBadger 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      highridinf250
I must not be any person. The majority of the design was Browning, including some cues from the 1911 which had to wait until the patents expired. Yes, it was a collaboration and yes it didn't see production until after his death and I know there was another designer heavily involved who's spelling of his name I'm not familiar with so I won't insult his memory BUY the majority of the design was by JM Browning and he considered it to be some of his finest work and the long awaited improvement to the 1911.
The trigger disconnect was a prerequisite of the military so don't blame it on him. It's readily removed and vast trigger improvement is attained with a little knowledge and time, not much expense.

The reason you aren't shooting any better is that gun! You need to get rid of that thing and buy you a nice new shiny Glock. Here, I'll even help you by taking it off your hands, there is hardly nothing I won't do for a fellow shooter. Message me and we can work out the details!

On public ranges like this, littered with broken glass, shells, trash, and thorny weeds, I often wear gloves for the same reason I wear boots, just general safety.
