    Constant is legitimately the best mod ever added to DDR. Thank you 鳳 for making everyone's life a little easier.

    I feel like the rare person who has a much harder time reading with the constant mod on than off. My reaction time is not good enough to deal with arrows suddenly appearing, and it's making watching gameplay videos of charts a much less pleasant experience.

      I agree. I actually never understood how people read better with sudden or constant better. They try to explain it many times, but respectfully, to this day, I still don't get it. I would rather just have the ability to look ahead of time and see what's coming up. I would think that would actually be more beneficial than seing the notes suddenly appearing?

      @@Hahdesu be glad that you don't have an 'information overload' problem on these charts with no dynamic sudden usage, I guess.
      I straight up could not get anything higher than a 850k on Max period DSP without Constant, now I've AAA'ed with Constant on.

      it's also because this isn't a proper implementation as how how Constant looks visually in the actual game. Freezes aren't cut off and the whole length appears when its set to fade into apperance.

    I'm confused with constant, what's the advantages of having the screen blocked based on speed?

      Constant means the notes will appear when they're (your set number of) milliseconds away from the step zone. E.g. If your constant setting is 1000ms, notes start appearing when they're 1 second away from stepping. The advantage is that for songs with half speed or varying speeds, there are less notes on screen during the slower sections, where previously you'd have to turn on/off sudden+ manually to block them off, and that makes for much better readability but more convenient than sudden+.

      Try playing 1x bag and you will know how difficult it is to interpret too many notes, but bag is a constant-bpm song. You can adjust the speed to 8x to avoid it. Modern DDR songs can have a variable BPM like 100-200-400. Due to the maximum speed of 400, you are unlikely to use 4x to deal with the 100-speed part, so sudden+ baffle came , but sudden+ requires the player to adjust the control panel, which undoubtedly increases the difficulty. The emergence of constant completely solves the problems of sudden+ baffle timing and baffle length.
      The final solution to constant is the C-speed option that SM has already had. But Konami is unlikely to let it happen, it would completely kill the fun of Sofuran song. (variable BPM)
