Wow my ancestor John MacQueen used to live in the ruins around there back in the 1600s! Looks like a fun place to fish I've always wanted to try fly fishing!
Noted that you are still not carrying a net. Fishers hope to catch a fish so do not bother carrying a net but anglers expect to catch a fish so do carry a net. In the fast water that you hooked a heavier fish you would have struggled to land a fish in that fast water without a net. I suggest that you try to get level.or below a fish once you have hooked it. If you played it from upstream you are fighting the fish and the current and pulling the hook out if the fishes mouth. By playing the fish from below it the fish is fighting you and the current and you are pulling the hook into the fishes mouth. Hope that helps.
I had a net between the two of us for the day which I would have happily netted a fish for Chris. I have the savage gear folding one which I have on a net magnet on my back very light to fish with all day.
I see you had a good trout day and nearly had a couple of salmon to boot keep it up it will come together very soon. Theo had a lovely day running around again 👍
Yes Ian, Theo had a great time, it was a hell of walk to the start of the beat and an even longer one back from the end of the beat. We both needed the weekend off to recover 😁😁👍
Great film Chris. Bugger so close looked like you had hold of two then not easy if they aren't properly hooked in the rapids. Almost got you a salmon next time.
Great video as always. Love the scenery, it seemed like you were really out in the wilderness! The head shakes of the lost fish definitely looked like a Salmon to me, although we can say trout if it makes the pain better!

Absolutely David, every take I was full of anticipation 🙄👍
Might be an idea to loosen the drag Chris… and don’t hand line until you know it’s a trout… hard lines!
You are probably right 👍
Chris that was a lovely video. Tight lines and let them stay on next time.
Thanks 👍 me too
Getting closer to the big one every episode Chris , I enjoy your videos 🏴👌

Great watch Chris, looks like a very scenic beat. Unlucky with those two fish I’m certain you’ll have one to the net soon! Tight lines🎣
Thanks for the comment and susbscribing Robert 👍

Great video, the drone footage is very good gives a good idea what that beat looks like. Think you almost certainly had a fish on unlucky Chris !
Thanks 👍so much

Thanks, I am not sure if saying it was a trout makes it feel any better tbh. 👍😁
Blimey Chris, putting my trout fishing videos to shane👍
Hahahaha Chris, thanks for that - cheeky bugger
Play them and treat them as a salmon until you see them a valuable lesson
Cheers 🍻

Ff you want to stop catching trout, set out to catch them and you're almost guaranteed not to see one all day.
hahahah like when I set out to catch Salmon eh?!
exactly like that. @@CornishChrisTheFish
