    So, the homewrecker plans to "press charges" for full custody of her husband's child from his ex-wife (the child's mother), when he has had barely any contact since the divorce and the mother was already granted full custody? How does she think that's going to work?

      Okay. She’s just trying to use the daughter to replace children she couldn’t have. I believe with all my heart if she could she wouldn’t be doing this at all. Since she was okay with it for almost a year until (this part I’m assuming) she went and found out she couldn’t have children then all of sudden she felt like she was a mother to her daughter too? You guys are way way… please remember that it is their child. She cannot terminate his parental rights. He literally should have gone back to court and requested an amendment to the original order. They also should not have threatened to press charges. These adults are idiots especially the ex and new wife. I feel sorry for the baby.

    • @Raggmopp-xl7yf
      @Raggmopp-xl7yf 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@vilnap3002 The baby is fine - especially with no contact with dad. And it depends on where these people live if he has any parental rights or not. This is why in some cases a woman (and even men) will not ask for child-support thus negating any legal right to visitation. This is especially true in places like Japan where when a divorce takes place the mother will take back her maiden name and even change the baby's name on the birth certificate.

    Guy is abusive to your daughter to cheat and play house with your daughter while having his affair behind your back, while married to you. That is totally messed up. That lady is super toxic too. She is trying to take your place, and will probably abuse your daughter if she gets anywhere near your daughter.

    • @shells500tutubo
      @shells500tutubo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Messed up as it is, that scenario is not at all uncommon. And sometimes courts will discount that behavior and award the cheating parent with more custody because of a more "stable" household. A household only made stable by the deliberate disruption of the now single parent's household. Happens mostly to women, but not always.

    • @christinaburney5935
      @christinaburney5935 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@shells500tutubo But court's also look at the home wreckers parental alienating behavior too. The lady basically wants to take the mom's place. And the dad was the one making threats about taking the daughter away from the mom after abandoning them. That is not stable behavior at all. Better to be in a single mom home with a stable parent than with someone who throws tantrums and makes threats and tries to push mom out of the picture because she can't have kids.

    There may be money on the line if his parents or grandparents have threatened to withhold money/inheritance if he doesn’t bring your daughter around again.
    He abandoned her for eight months, that may be enough time to legally get him out of your daughter’s life.
    As your daughter gets older you should let her know what a poor excuse of a husband, dad & man he is. & exactly what he did. But be careful because you don’t want to be tried for parental alienation.

Any judge would laugh them out of court for pressing those charges because 1 there's alot of single mothers out there that is not grounds for neglect. 2 the guy disappeared for almost a year op didn't telk him to stay away. 3 the fact that he thinks he can just disappear and reappear in is daughter's life and also threaten and guilt trip her mother so he can get his way is absolute BS.

    My daughter saw her dad 3 day's a week. Then he met a younger woman who hated my daughter and I found out year's later, slapped my daughter face. She was 6 year's old. He sent me a letter via his solicitor he no longer wanted to see her. He twice went to my best friend later begging to see her. I persuaded my daughter and he never came. She's 38 year's old now. She still blames me for getting hurt twice. She was his princess and he had told her he would always be there. He broke her. So for 30 year's She's not seen him ever. No birthday cards or presents. She hates him. Never let him destroy your daughter.

    So, for 3 years, he has been teaching your daughter to lie to you about seeing another woman. NTA , you are well out of that relationship. Ask him why he and his new wife don't have their own children and leave yours alone, is she having a problem getting pregnant? That last bit about being too old for having children is a lie. I was 38 when I had my youngest, and had no problems with the birth. If they have a good ob-gyn, there should be no problem.

    OP is right. The last thing her daughter needs is 'parents' who treat her like a doll rather than a human being. They would abandon her as soon as they find out that parenting is hard work and the needs of the child are more important than them. So many children suffer from parents who drift in and out of their lives leaving them with serious problems for the rest of their lives. Good for OP for taking care of all her daughter's needs.

    S1 - This story is certainly not in the U.S. There is no way OP would have that much say in denying the Dad the right to visit his daughter. In fact, I started disbelieving it at the very beginning of the story when OP said the dad only visited under her watchful eye. He is, after all, a parent too. No mention of child abuse or neglect previously.

    He blew it in the first 30 seconds of coming back into her life. He should have offered therapy. Kept Mandy out of it. And said he would try and visit more instead of black mailing her. Like just that one statement could have gotten him a restraining order which could have ruined his employeement and tanked any chance with the kid. This guy just keeps adult blowing it with nonsense. He should have kept visiting and in a year he could have expanded his visitation rights. So, many dang options for this guy to rebuild trust but it's like he doesn't see her or his daughter like thinking feeling human beings.

    As soon as Peter was back after abandoning his daughter, my first thought was, "the bish can't have kids". And it is so repulsive how he brought that woman into his home, probably into his and Op's bed, and was playing happy family with the daughter.
    Unfortunately, this scenario is NOT uncommon. Some details may differ, but as soon as the father gets another gf or wife, he thinks all of a sudden he and gf are better because the single mom (single because HE left) is not good enough.

    OPs reasoning is too self-centred buuut she's not wrong. If they wanted to renegotiate custody coming at her with threats was the absolute dumbest move. He also failed to even maintain visitation. Why didn't he care for such a long time but NOW wants the kid? He's a tool, his #1 priority is his AP, the kid would always come off worse in any conflict just because of that which is NOT parenting. He's a failure.

      He’s only back because his new wife wants a child. He doesn’t want her, his wife does! They want OP to just hand over her baby like she’s a discarded toy and give them a chance to be a family, but they want full custody, not 50/50…meaning OP couldn’t see her child. I would tell that witch that her infertility problems were not my problem. She can either adopt or use a surrogate to get her own child. Mine is not up for discussion!

    So, for Mandy's sake, he cheated for 3 years. For Mandy's sake he left her. For Mandy's sake, he stopped visiting his daughter. Now for Mandy's sake, he wants his discarded daughter to fulfill Mandy's fantasy. Not once did he think about his daughter. Mandy is deranged and maybe needs a pet, along with a lot of therapy and some moral guidance. And OP's Ex is a sorry excuse for a man, let alone a father.

  • @nataschavanzanen
    @nataschavanzanen 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I agree it would have been best for the daughter to have both parents. And even though her father cheated, he cheated on the mother, not the child. Sure.
    However: the father did not show any signs of interest in his daughter for nearly a year. So he either just came up with the idea that his daughter needs a dad, or he knew full well he was damaging her and was ok with that.
    The one thing more detrimental to the mental health of a child than a parent selfishly abandoning them, is to have that happen multiple times, be that by the same parent, or multiple parental figures.
    And if the father is given custody, even if he’s now the perfect father somehow, having to be uprooted and losing her mother, her only parent for a good while, is going to feel like abandonment to the child.
    Since he gladly gave up his own daughter, at the request of his wife, only to claim the kid once wifey wanted a family and couldn’t have her first option: a child of her own, It’s only a matter of time before they abandon the child once more, after having cut her off from her mother, because 1) Mandy has a miracle baby, or 2) the daughter takes after her mother too much for their liking.
    Mandy has shown to be a bad mother, due to happily robbing the child she claims to love as her own, of a father, after having broken up her home to start with. Her not being a maternal figure to anyone is a blessing.

  • @tartlynerdy
    @tartlynerdy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    The only thing op did wrong was threaten to call the police instead of just doing it when the Peter and Mandy showed up to op's home.
    Peter sounds like this "I can't believe you're still holding me accountable for the fact I cheated on you for three years! Now you're butthurt my wife and I threatened to take full custody of our daughter. That's so unfair!" He abandoned his daughter for his ex girlfriend. Peter sucks.
    I can't believe a guy like this tricked two women into thinking he's relationship material. My first bet is that Peter found out with his wife that she has infertility issues. My second bet is that they need op's daughter to fall in line with their narrative so they can complete the image they're presenting. When cheaters get married to their affair partner they usually have children shortly afterwards as a way to bury the fact they started out their relationship on infidelity and secrecy. They can also weaponise the kids to make anyone who doesn't approve the relationship into putting their feelings aside "for the kids".
    "Let us have the family we want for Mandy's sake" for Mandy's sake. This guy gives no craps about his daughter. It's all about Mandy 🙃. Op should have rubbed a middle finger all over Peter's face and told Mandy to go to hell. Take a hint.

    They went about it in exactly the wrong way, but his infidelity should have no bearing on whether or not he should be an equal part of his daughter's life. This mom's need to punish her ex regardless of whether or not her daughter suffers because of it is sickening. The fact that 50/50 isnt the default for custody is a profound injustice, but feminists arent interested in using their control of the courts to actually fight for whats equal, they want female advantage even if it means children suffer for it.

    I feel like theres more to this story being left out. It kind of sounds like a case of parental alienation. She talks more about herself amd how she was screwed over and they ruined her life and its her daughter. Nothing about her daughters well beimg it was all about OP. It sounds like this man is desperately trying to get some parental ights back and has reached a breaking point. Coming from someone who grew up with a posessive mom and was alienated from my father, the way op talks just remimds my of stuff my mom would say. Unless this is a case of abuse from dad and step mom, which doesmt seem to be the case, OP is definitely the a-hole

    There's alot strange and/or missing from this story.
    What custody battle? It doesn't sound like the dad pursued anything during the divorce, joint is only mentioned later, when she starts calling it a battle.
    Why were the dad's visits supervised? And by the OP, no less.
    Supervised visitation is usually ordered if the parent has a history of violence, substance abuse, unstable living conditions...things that actually might harm the child. Not because they were a crappy spouse. And the supervisor is usually a social worker or similar.
    Custody decisions are definitely influenced by work schedules and living arrangements, but I don't think cheating on the spouse has a lot of bearing these days, no matter how badly that sucks.
    The dad and stepmom are delusional. He's not going to just make false accusations and get custody, especially after being MIA for 8 months.
    I don't know where they live, but I don't recommend that the OP try to deny visitation based on that 8 months either. Only the court can terminate visitation rights against the non-custodial parent's wishes.
