Shoot Instax on Hasselblad 500CM - The Hasselback? | MEDIUM FORMAT PHOTOGRAPHY

- The Hasselblad 500cm medium format camera is so cool! There are so many creative ways to use it. You can shoot classic 120 negative or slide film in color or black & white--you can use an adapter to shoot 35mm film (Sprocket hole photography)--AND you can shoot digital by connecting a digital back like the Phase One P20.
In this video, I talk about how to shoot Instax film, Instax Mini and Instax Square, with this camera using a Polaroid Film Back and some Fujifilm FP-100C remnants. The process should work on any V series Hasselblad like the 500C or 500ELM, as well as the Kiev 88, but the procedure is a bit tedious, so a dedicated Instax back would be nice.
I found a company that's making one--Escura, but the project's been stuck in production for quite a while. Let me know if you have one of them or if you'd like to get one.

This is a gem of a video! I tried the instax trick out today (after immediately watching this vid) and it worked perfectly even without using the empty fujifilm 100 FC cannister (!!! - I copied your technique but applied it directly to the "polaroid" back). Thank you!!!!!!

I have wanted to shoot instant film on my 500 cm since it barcame impossible to get affordable Fuji pack film. And man those were so beautiful and sharp. Instead I can’t imagine rendering that way but I’m down for the instant gratification.

How do you run the instax through the camera without exposing it? Or through the printer?
I don't have an instax camera, so I can't say from experience, but I've seen people cover the lens with their hand and take a picture, to get the photo to eject from the camera without exposing it to light before hitting the rollers--with the printer, I usually just open and close the back in a dark bag, because it automatically ejects what it thinks is the dark slide
