SultanOfShinola yeah, totally agree. I thought there would be more rattles as I drove, but it’s whisper quiet. I would definitely worry about a Velcro mount slipping sliding and moving around
I have a good friend who mounted it right above the center console. He’s already used it once (he happened upon on a flaming car on the side of the road) and said it was awesome to have it so close at hand
It’s been a great setup and looks awesome with the top off. One word of caution: position the fire extinguisher right or it might get damaged as you lift your hard top off. I’ve broken one extinguisher already.
I'm looking at that Drake mount....it would be neat if it had finger grooves as a way to hold it vertical in case you need to deploy and actually use it.
You're installing a traditional, pressurized metal canister Fire Extinguisher that's a 70 year old technology. The pressure and vibration compacts/cakes the powder which can lead to it not working as designed or failing all together. Also, a small scratch will cause the extinguisher to rust. I think it’s more about “being able to get to it fast” Anyway why would a thief be interested in a fire extinguisher? They only cost like $30… is there a big black market for inexpensive stolen goods that I’m not aware of?
@@1111Overland People will steal *anything*. And kids love to play with things like fire extinguishers. 💨 I'd rather have it down low in front of a seat.

So does this quick release mount rattle?
Mine came with t-bolt clamps but I thought those hose bands would look better fitment wise but how did they hold up after a while?

They were part of the Rubicon Recon package from the factory! I love them. I’ve seen colored seat belts on Quadratec.com
