John Barry makes frequent references to the 'James Bond Theme' in Octopussy's score, reinforcing that Octopussy was an official Eon Bond film unlike Sean Connery's competing Bond film Never Say Never Again, released the same year as Octopussy.

Thanks for creating and uploading this suite. For me, Moonraker was the last "inspried Bond soundtrack" from John Barry. He composed so many masterpieces outside of the Bond series after Moonraker, but Bond could no longer inspire him. Octopussy's soundtrack is good and solid, but did not reach Barry's usual top-level. One of the biggest film composers of all time.

Great John Barry
Research: Sixth Bond for fifty-five year old Roger Moore, the second directed by John Glen, the thirteenth in the series. Cuba, Karl Marx Stadt, London, Udaipur, Berlin and a US base in the GDR are the locations where 007 (and his stuntmen) perform traditional wonders.
Based on two short stories by Ian Fleming: “Octopussy” and “Property Of A Lady”, released posthumously in 1966. “Octopussy” grossed 187 million dollars compared to the 160 of “Never Say Never Again” with Sean Connery, an apocryphal film released six months later.
James Brolin, now husband of Barbra Streisand, auditioned for the part; However, Roger Moore agreed to reinterpret Bond at the last moment, when news spread that Sean Connery was returning to play 007 in competition.
The scene in which Gobinda crushes playing dice with his own hands is very reminiscent of the one in which Oddjob crushes a golf ball in his fist in the film “Goldfinger”.
PS: The show went very well.
Although the unstable climate affects my health and my worries, the contact with the public (even during the general rehearsals) is an "injection of confidence".
Among the spectators was my little nephew.
Each of us received the poster of the show as recognition from the association as a certificate of participation from the protagonists, to be framed.
Even the dance scenes went well, so much so that we did an encore with everyone at the end!
I received compliments from many people, who they said gave an expressive, funny and empathetic performance!
I did two improvisations with gestures.
