When it flew I out loud said yessss. My wife looked at me like what the heck are you doing. Awesome build, and even better story. Alex saying "we weren't gonna let you give up"... That's a friend.
Really love seeing the positivity in all the FliteTest videos. I love the hobby, love flying, love building, and love watching your vids. Like chicken soup for the RC soul.
Having the right people around you willing to push you and reassure you is everything. Someone nearby to tell you that you do, in fact, either have the skill to succeed, or even the will to learn from a failure. Its a great step in building ones own confidence. In the last few years I really learned how to paint a lot of my cosplay stuff and the techniques I used, used to scare me before. Beyond the content of this video, the products, the flight, the actual build, the actual underlying message is well more important. Keep making great, motivating videos guys.
When I first saw the Sea Duck, this was what I really wanted to see in the air. You guys just made one of my own childhood dreams come true. And bonus for having a relevant sponsor for once! For something that seems to do so much, the Simo is decently priced. Anyone with experience with the Simo have any commentary on whether it's worth it?

1. I can't do this. 2. That wasn't too hard. 3. Devastation, the crash. 4. The rebuild. "I think I can make it better." 5. Elation!! It flies. 6. I can do anything.

I've watched and smiled a lot watching your videos but I was cheesin' during his realization of his childhood dream. I loved it and the "Sea Duck" from "Tail Spin".
Could you do a detailed video on how to design airplanes, (like from scratch), and what software you use, how to calculate everything, how to use the software, how to create plans, more advanced aerodynamics, etc? I feel like that would be graciously appreciated by many people.(myself included).

Hey! I'm still not all that good at bevel cuts, but years ago Josh B. said to just make a few light passes with 80 or 100 grit sandpaper on a sanding block...it works great!
