The way the people are portrayed and the landscape described shows that the author ha a deep respect for both. I loved it. Thank you for that, as well as a good yarn.
As a lifelong Texan(born in Alabama, forgive me, moved to Texas as soon as I realized, before I was 1yr old), I was calling Bullsh on how these Rangers talk to each other UNTIL Carlos' speaks to him about stepping up and not quitting while bedside in the hospital room of the FBI agent in a coma.
