Great video... That's a tear drop shape upside down lol😉. Looking to add dragonfly to a box w/frog on it... Going to use wire to attach to dragonfly & to box... Like it's flying around the frog.. thx for the Great Ingenuity !!
What kind cutter and what kind of paper do I use to cut wider quilling paper? Love your tutorials ❤ tell everyone about you and what a great instructor you are.
I only have a fairly old blog post about ladybugs 👉 www.thepaperycraftery.com/quilling/quilling-paper-ladybugs/ I think I can come up with a better one, so I'll put it on the list for this summer. Thanks for the inspiration and keep an eye out for that video soon 😁
I buy from a few places online, but I always leave direct links to all the supplies that I use for each project in the description box for the video to make them easy to find 🙂
THANK YOU for making a narrated tutorial. It annoys me when people upload a vid with just music. If you can't be bothered to talk me through it, then I can't be bothered to watch.
Can l ask..why don’t you attach the three body pieces together before rolling? You rolled each, glued and then attached the next color. Jut curious if it makes a difference. Still learning. Love, LOVE, your videos.
Thanks Nancy! You can absolutely glue the strips end to end and it will work on the same way. I do it quite often myself! Just used a different technique for this video. Some people even just tuck the new strip in to the coil without gluing as they roll, but that’s tricky for my fingers sometimes 🙂
I do have an entire video on making swirls 👉 th-cam.com/video/kKeU9MDuBfo/w-d-xo.html But everything you need for the dragonflies will be shown in the dragonfly video.
I've had people mention that they've used it before and had success, but then some others don't. I don't think the surface of parchment paper or greaseproof paper is slick enough to prevent sticking, so that's why I stick to wax paper. Some people also like plastic wrap or "press and seal".
I'm new to your channel, I've only completed your snowflakes for Xmas cards, they were a hit! Love the dragon fly. Your so talented. Question do you have a completed Butterfly 🦋 video and bumblebee Video. I'd love to complete a project With flowers and these insects A beautiful scenery. 😍
Thank you so much! So glad the snowflakes went well 🤩 I do have a small butterfly and some mini bees in this playlist 👉 th-cam.com/video/SH2ujajp4hg/w-d-xo.html I love bees so don't be surprised to see a larger version of one in the future!
There actually is no additional template needed for the dragonfly project. All the measurements are in the video. Whenever I do use a template, I include that link in the description box for that video 🙂
The rose gold edged strips are from a company called JJ Quilling Design and I bought them from the site CustomQuillingByDenise.com but it doesn’t seem to be in stock there. She does have other metallic-edge strips though. There are also some other colors listed on QuilledCreations.com. I haven’t looked but JJ Quilling may have their own retail site online.
In the description box below each video, I make a list of all the supplies I use with a link to purchase each one. The websites vary depending on the product. Unfortunately, I don’t know if TH-cam has a print function for the descriptions.
Usually I use 1/8" width strips because they are the most commonly available, unless I mention something different. Keep in mind that most projects can be done with other widths so you can use what ever size you feel comfortable with. I do always list the supplies I use with direct links in the description box of every video, so I hope that helps 🙂
If I don't mention otherwise, I use regular Elmer's glue. I do have a video on what kind of glues I use for quilling and when. You can watch that here 👉 th-cam.com/video/cmfFUvu64Uw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had incorrectly thought that TH-cam captions videos automatically. I will work on manually captioning my videos myself so they can be useful to all crafters. In the meantime, the majority of my videos are made into written blog posts with full instructions on my website, including the dragonfly. If you go to the description box in this video, you’ll find the direct link there.
Alma, Look at your screen, see where the video is? Ok now look at the upper right corner of video screen, do you see 3 dots vertically? Click on that and you bring down a menu, see closed caption? Click on that. You can also slow down the speed of a video or make it go faster. People use the slow motion video to watch for things like BIG FOOT, Paranormal videos, etc.... hope that helps.😁👍🙏
I love the idea of having a dipping glue option. I find myself stressing when trying to squeeze out the glue from my needle nose bottle. Great tip!
Hola Susan!!!...Que clase de pegamento se usa para éste arte..( filigrama)???...Podrías ayudarme por favor....Muchas gracias!!!
I really enjoyed making this along with you. Your instructions and demonstrations are fantastic. Thank you
Thank you so much!

I love all the thing you do, you are a very good teacher
Thanks so much!
What kind cutter and what kind of paper do I use to cut wider quilling paper? Love your tutorials ❤ tell everyone about you and what a great instructor you are.
Thanks so much! I don’t cut my strips, but I know others just use some sort of manual paper cutter for theirs.

How cute! I have to make this one. Do you have a tutorial for making a lady bug?
I only have a fairly old blog post about ladybugs 👉 www.thepaperycraftery.com/quilling/quilling-paper-ladybugs/ I think I can come up with a better one, so I'll put it on the list for this summer. Thanks for the inspiration and keep an eye out for that video soon 😁

Meridith Hello, Beautiful dragonfly, but somehow I missed the size of paper. Is it 1/8" or 3mm?
These are 1/8" as that's what's most common in the US, but 3mm is almost exactly the same width.
I’m wondering where u purchase your supplies
I buy from a few places online, but I always leave direct links to all the supplies that I use for each project in the description box for the video to make them easy to find 🙂

Can you use greaseproof paper for quilling please
I've had people mention that they've used it before and had success, but then some others don't. I don't think the surface of parchment paper or greaseproof paper is slick enough to prevent sticking, so that's why I stick to wax paper. Some people also like plastic wrap or "press and seal".

@@ThePaperyCraftery thank you
I'm a newbie lol 😆
Damn my cat‘s comb starts to look like a quilling comb, a lot … must try this…
That will work! 🙃
Where can I find the rose gold strips for the wings?
The rose gold edged strips are from a company called JJ Quilling Design and I bought them from the site CustomQuillingByDenise.com but it doesn’t seem to be in stock there. She does have other metallic-edge strips though. There are also some other colors listed on QuilledCreations.com. I haven’t looked but JJ Quilling may have their own retail site online.
Where is the best place to order supplies and does this video have a print out of what you need to do this project?
In the description box below each video, I make a list of all the supplies I use with a link to purchase each one. The websites vary depending on the product. Unfortunately, I don’t know if TH-cam has a print function for the descriptions.
What width of paper are you using? I find that a lot of your videos you don't say what width you use.
Usually I use 1/8" width strips because they are the most commonly available, unless I mention something different. Keep in mind that most projects can be done with other widths so you can use what ever size you feel comfortable with. Which glue is that

I would love if this had closed caption for me (I am deaf)
