For the katana recharge tip im pretty sure its like the hammers last season. If you drop and pick theirs up it gives u as many charges they had before they died.

Personally I found a really good drop location which involves the racetrack but the use of the rifts in order to obtain the pulse rifle I would have never thought of doing
