In response, we dedicated this song to him as a goodbye at our final concert of the year and as a decision to rejoice over the fact that he's in a better place now. This adds a solemn note to the song for me now, but I'll always love it. Thank you for uploading this!

This is the piece that made me promise to myself in 8th grade that I'd stay in orchestra through all of high school. I'm graduating this year, so I will now make a new promise to keep playing violin through college too.

Sometimes I wonder why some music is more famous and loved and some just isn't really heard-of of known-of. I think songs with a distinct melody and a distinct but faint background melody are easier to remember and are much more satisfying. Jupiter has a pattern that's almost always followed and this provides a sense of fulfillment. Anybody agree? ;) and on the other side of the spectrum, I played this is 7th grade orchestra and that was a very hard year for me (although we can agree middle school is hard for everyone...) but whenever I listen to this song, it makes me believe that everything is going to be okay. Anyone else have a song that will never get old - an emotional attachment to a song?

I was supposed to perform this as a first violin at the middle school all state (North Carolina), but it got canceled because of Covid. Super disappointed 😢. Listening to this brought me right on back to 7th grade and how much I enjoyed this piece.
