    Did it increase the intake noise? Did you notice any difference in performance. Not necessarily more power, but maybe smoother or choppier throttle response? Does it keep the air box cleaner?

      I noticed none of the above. No greater noise. I don't offroad so no idea if it gets dirty. NO more power than normal. No smoother response whatsoever. I think this is a feel good mod to be honest. The KTM engineers designed the airbox at the factory to work perfectly fine with this bike so I am not sure this mod is worth anything if you don't offroad.

      @@SeanFillner thanks for the insight. Much appreciated. Cheers.

    Thanks. I’m also interested in the power plate for extra protection against the dust for off-road riding. I’ve heard where the Norden’s ECU is sensitive to modifications to the stock air flow. What are your thoughts on how this mod has changed how the bike performs, if at all?

      0 performance gains. It's just a prefilter.

      What you did is totally useless until you do not plug drain holes..

      @@marekmozga3963 the 2023 models do not have drain holes. I checked. Even if they did the k and n filter or dna filter is certainly an upgrade compared to the cheap paper one... Do some more research before making comments that are not true...

      @@SeanFillner the 2023 models do indeed have drain holes, with a slotted rubber plug opening to the area above the shock. There is quite a bit of discussion out there about whether or not to tape over the slots to keep dirty air out of the airbox. "Totally useless" is a stretch, but without taping up these holes there will be dirty air coming through the slots, bypassing the prefilter. Some have said you can think of this as a safety bypass for the prefilter if it gets clogged.

    Did drain plugs come with the RT Power Plate kit? Did you just leave the air box drain plugs as is?

      Not necessary. Think about it.

      where does the air come from? The drain plugs, because they are split open.

    • @SeanFillner
      @SeanFillner  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @showmytime9177 not necessary. Look at the airbox on your car. I bet it is also covered with dust on the inside of it before your main air filter. Motorcycles are designed the same way. The only thing a pre filter does is TRY to eliminate that dust. It's a gimmick.

    • @showmytime9177
      @showmytime9177 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SeanFillner it doesn't eliminate the dust because air is sucked through the drain plugs since they are split to allow water to drain.
      Cap the drain plugs, eliminate dust.

    Funny you install a pre-filter to increase the filtering and then install a DNA sudo-filter which allows over 20 times (TWENTY TIMES) more particles into the engine than the cheapest, nastiest no-name regular filter. Watch Project Farm test of air filters where a K&N sudo-filter (exactly the same as this DNS) is tested.
