Big Vinny Girolamo 30:36 killed in 1979. Vinny died from an injury to his spleen after a fight with oakland Hell's Angel president Michael Irish O'Farrell. Vinny wife died in 1977 possibly murdered by big Vinny. Vinny was accused, but he died before a trail date.
O, Farrell was killed by a member of the Aryan Brotherhood in an Ambush outside bar. The reason was is because the Aryan Brotherhood member feared O, Farrell would beat his ass again to collect money a drug debt. O, Farrell had already beat the guy up two months prior. When O, Farrell came out of the bar, the Aryan Brotherhood member stabbed him five times in the back, once in the chest, and once in the neck, before shooting him four times from behind with a .25 caliber pistol while he was dying.
Until one of them was coked out drunk and decided you insulted 1 of his brothers. Then you would get shit stormed by 10 + "Angels" who would beat you mercilessly.
I can't speak to knowing any Hells Angels, but a local Outlaw Club did me a solid a time back. I was flying home from work on a bright yellow Japanese sports bike when I came to a set of lights with a long line of vehicles ahead of me. It was a dual carriageway, so I unlawfully filtered through doing about 35 miles an hour. Two cars back from the front I spot about 8 Harley riders sitting dutifully at the traffic lights. 1% barely ever sit in traffic like that, so I blip passed them only to realise it's Bros MC. I wouldn't buzz a crew like that but the lights were about to change so I committed rather than end up pressed between a narrow corridor of cars. So the lights turn green, I give it a handful and fly the front wheel accross the intersection. This is when I realised my second mistake. In the oncoming lane is a Highway Patrol Car, with both cops staring straight at me. They hit the lights and tried to U-turn to catch me, but by know the Club guys had taken off as well. Now it was a 20 mph zone due to road works so the pack was doing just that while I split, but they were also filling both lanes so the by now furious cops were well and truly stuck behind them. I don't know if it was intentional or whether they just didn't give a fuck about the cops, but I got home without having my bike impounded or my licence revoked for dangerous driving. If I come across a member from that club in a bar one day, the drinks on me.
I'm a biker and have no problem with other bikers. I have been around the Angeles and never had a problem. Be respectful and you will get respect. Let see if I can clear things up. Treat others as you want to be treated. That's it.

See even Jerry gets it.. And i couldnt have answered the question better than he did "I think people are scared because we are sure of ourselves" amen to that
As a biker, a pretty mild one, I have to say that I respect greatly the code of honor of the Hell's Angels. I've met lots of people in my day, and have to say that under the rough exteriors are some of the most loyal and giving people I've met. These guys very often have had a hard life and appreciate that others have had hard lives also, and pretty much to a man, as they said, it's about loyalty, about respect, you treat them with that, they treat you twice as good. I've got stories of their generosity and kindness to back this up. If I wanted someone to watch my back, they would pretty much be near the top of my list. Never judge a book by it's cover my friends.
Jerry S. as it dead on. Over the years I have got to know them and rode with several different clubs very nice people I thought they were getting a bad press
joelski I have been in a few clubs and as for drugs grass I found was the drug of choice of course there is some who will do harder drugs just like in all walks of life
Code of Honor???? Tell that to my uncle who bumped 5 times his wieght in Charlies and did 2 years taking the fall for an NYC nomad in the 70's. The Prez had him and his brothers from the north chapter offed because they were too crazy. His TY was a sleeping bag weighted down with concrete. Shrug off your illusions kid. They're not the cream of the crop...they're the creme de la CRAP.
This particular "ANGEL" HAD THMENTAL CAPACITY OF A SMALL SOAP DISH!!! Not Deserving of being patched, A rocker, or even a Nick name unless it was bird shit, fecal matter or maybe" Lice Hunter" what a Fucking Spazz ha ha ha LMFAO😝
Saw this interview when it first aired back in the 70's they left out the part where Sandy threatened to tear up the studio because Geraldo must have asked a provoking question. Oakland angel had to calm him down.
Look to the end of the first interview, Geraldo shakes his hand and tries to walk away, but pres holds his hand tight and pulls him and says something in his ear. It would be interesting to hear what it was!
Jerry Garcia was a smart man and he liked hanging around with the Hell's Angels and he said if you don't fuck with them they won't kill you that's the way it is if you're stuck on the road to hells Angels will pull right over and help you in charities they give to all kinds of charities well I was helping him load three vans full of brand new bicycles for toys at tots and then he cleaned out the toy section but the media will never print that I'm 71 years old and I was raised by that club there are good and bad in everything but the media lumps all the Angels that's character assassination wolf Lynn Massachusetts
Gypsy Punk, Geraldo is Still Condescending and disrespectful. He's a Liberal here in the States who thinks he's Always right and is one of the most annoying Mutha FKers to listen to on FOX News.
He's a wannabe tough guy. Check out his interview with Charles Manson. Sleeves rolled up, looming over the tiny Manson, talking down to him, playing the roll of big man next to a meek little guy. I suppose he has his formula for an audience, but it's an embarrassing spectacle.

Support 81 Nothing but great memories of E. 3rd St. NYC in the 80’s and 90’s. That was the safest street in NYC in the 70s 80s and 90s. Every neighbor on that street will contest that and how appreciative everyone was that they looked after our neighborhood.
I’ve never heard nothing but good things about the Angel’s. I mean the wife dad used to hang with a few in Stockton/Manteca area and she remembers them showing her nothing but love. To this day she call’s them hero’s.
I attended an open door club BBQ. Wasn't HA but more a mix of hard core bikers and regular folks. My GF and grandson also attended. Not once did I feel threatened. Nor my GF. My grandson had a blast. I distinctly remember watching my 8 year old interact with a hulking bearded patch wearing biker. This man got down on a child's level in every way. He obviously loved children. There was no doubt that he would have put a child before his own safety. After a few minutes he went to the kitchen area and returned with something wrapped in foil. He handed it to my grandson and told him it was all his and no one will touch it. That stuff sat open on the table and no one took ant without asking my grandson first. That's respect!!! Best damned rice crispy treats ever😁
I'm a fan of Geraldo Rivera and the _Hells Angels_ ... also the _Blue Angels_ , but that's another story. Anyway, thanks for the upload of this fascinating show!
I like that comment "..You come with RESPECT and then you get RESPECTED back.." Damn straight. I had an H/A member and his wife pick me up once on a rainy night. I was trying get back home to Toronto and I was in Oshawa and they said they weren't going there but they would happily drive me to the train station and I thanked them both for the ride. As I turned the H/A member gave $5 for the train. He wore his vest and a beautiful native brave H/A shirt. I thanked them again and I was off.
I agree, Geraldo can be a pushy little prick some times...he's always been a publicity hound. I hate when he comes up with those condensing, smarmy line of questions. I don't necessarily endorse the biker life style myself, but he could of just made a rational argument without being antagonistic. Ya he should have got a thumpin' is right
I wonder if Geraldo himself realizes how annoying he comes off, as he's talking to the camera with that stupid condescending grin. Also when he's 'interviewing' the guests. Actually, I'm trying to think of a different way to describe him besides annoying and condescending, but I can't put my finger on it.

It seem there are so many obstacles in the world if you want some freedom in your life. Hope the Hells Angels are the same today as they were in the early days. Also can an Angel or anyone let me know why there is not an apostrophe in the word Hells after the second L.Thanx and respect to you all.

31:27 As Geraldo predicted. 5 years after this interview, Big Vinny Girolamo chucked his girlfriend off a building and Vinny was killed at the hands of the Hell's Angels, he was 31 years old. "12.05.47 - 09.12.79 After the completion of his military service in 1966, Girolamo joined the Hell's Angels and became the sergeant-at-arms of the Manhattan chapter. He is responsible for the club's motto "When in Doubt, Knock 'em Out" and their insignia "Evil Force". On September 21, 1977, 22 year old waitress/girlfriend Mary Ann Campbell died after Girolamo pushed her from the roof of a 6 story building. That night, the drunken Girolamo was also accused of attempting to rape two other members. Girolamo was charged with Campbell's murder but before he could stand trial, he died from an injury to his spleen after a dispute turned physical with Oakland Hell's Angel President Michael "Irish" O'Farrell."
thanks for the info. was just asking myslef what happened to that couple. "Girolamo was also accused of attempting to rape two other members" ! damn ... he was taking what he wanted right. girl looks stoned.
IAstoni, I heard Big Vinnie, took a trip out to Oakland and began beating up a much smaller member in the Oakland Clubhouse. Michael Irish O'Farrel I believe.. At that point a bunch of members from Oakland jumped on him and gave him a good club beating in which they ruptured his spleen. Big Vinnie after returning from Oakland died in a NYC Hospital from his ruptured spleen.
IAstonI mate, great bit of info, I’ll be looking further into that story and thankyou, I appreciate you telling it here. I, like I’m sure a lot of people who are interested in the outlaw culture are not wanting to be one them, but are fascinated by them and the way the originals were, not like the pretend ones we have now in Sydney Australia for example, mostly arabs who don’t ride bikes or own them, and spend more time in front of the mirror in one day than the whole Manhattan Angels Chapter did in their lives combined! They call them Nike Bikes these beardless, perfumed posers. That whole, keep the hog in the lounge room , work on it, sleep next to it & it means the most in the world to you next to your brothers, your old lady coming in 3rd :) is something that is nowhere near as common place among these guys than it was in the 60’s and early 70’s (in Australia Outlaw MC members are called Bikies, but I’m pretty sure in the U.S their known as Bikers)

Love him or hate him, Geraldo had a pretty rad talk show and house band. The 70’s were awesome!

@@MrHAPPYHAWAIIAN Most of them if not all are dead.
Year before I was born. Would love to go back and hang with some of those dudes!
They are still a organization. Still having hiway shootouts and moving meth. You could probably be a hang around if you have a Harley.

After the completion of his military service in 1966, Girolamo joined the Hell's Angels and became the sergeant-at-arms of the Manhattan chapter. He is responsible for the club's motto "When in Doubt, Knock 'em Out" and their insignia "Evil Force".
On September 21, 1977, 22 year old waitress/girlfriend Mary Ann Campbell died after Girolamo pushed her from the roof of a 6 story building.
That whole, keep the hog in the lounge room , work on it, sleep next to it & it means the most in the world to you next to your brothers, your old lady coming in 3rd :) is something that is nowhere near as common place among these guys than it was in the 60’s and early 70’s
