I was today years old when I learned Steve’s smile was, in fact, not a smile
It's probably because Sakurai tries to make the characters look as close as possible to how they did originally, and Steve did originally have a beard even if it was only in the early dev builds.

When Steve dies in Stamina Mode, he should become all red and fall over, then disappear with the poof effect from Minecraft.
If you watched Sakurai's battle against the zombies in the spirit battle, you'll actually see the zombies fall over with a red colour as you have described.

Okay, is it just me, or does the Final Smash almost look like gameplay that they pre-recorded?
I think the bit with the creepers was pre-recorded, and a bit of a fun fact but you don't have to look super closely to see that it uses the old textures.
Honestly that's perfect. Part of the reason I love Steve's inclusion so much is how he doesn't fit in with the other fighters

i feel like Steve has the perfect counter to campy play: being able self upgrade when given the time and space to do so. Just imagine Samus doing typical online Samus things and then suddenly taking a netherite sword to the face.

We don’t know if that’s Steve’s gimmick yet, or whether materials/weapons are random. If they are random, I hope they all do the same amount of damage

they tried to balance Steve in smash, because he was too powerful in Minecraft originally .

Yes, they DID only mention the showcase, and it could be so, but if you look at the challenger pack for number 7, it says 2021, they are usually placeholders but it was said nowhere when they were going to be released

Yes they are though the animation is WAY better in Minecraft they are almost clipping through the door and you hear loud banging coming from the door everytime it reaches a new level of broken in the sprite
In Minecraft older versions, Zombies were able to break doors in any mode, but depending on the difficulty selected, they would break faster.

Also the scale between blocks and Steve are not respected in smash bros ( he's shorter in smash)
I think the reason was probably because 2 block are 2 meters, thats captain Falcon height if he stands upright, Steve would be massive if he was his original 2 block height, counting with Steve also being 1 block wide Steve dimensions would be similar to ganondorf's

Johnny we know two taunts: eating, and moving the head (seen in the Squid Sisters bit of the trailer)
When Alex gets revealed they do jumps and punch in air in a quick succession, it wasn't a short hop for a fast fall (because a star would appear) so it could possibly be a taunt.
With lava bucket you can just put the lava down then pick it up again

The tools are upgradeable and gold pick is more efficient, but it lacks durability
You upgrade your gear as Steve and Alex in Smash by mining, just like Minecraft. So far we’ve seen the Wood, Iron and Gold pickaxes, wouldn’t be surprised if there are Stone and Diamond variations that do more damage and have better efficiency.
