      As someone who is currently searching for a first car, Toyota Aygos seem fairly tempting...

    I'm so glad that the "will (person) fit in the boot" test is a regular segment

    • @DanielDrives
      @DanielDrives  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s the best way to test the boot space!

      From the brief shot, I think 'person getting out of boot' might have been entertaining...

      I'm glad it's a will a person fit in the boot test and not how many suitcases like the boring proffessional TV testers 😂😂😂

    I myself bought my citigo from new in 2013, it has now driven 378,000 km without any problems, only wearing parts and timing belt have been changed ☺

    Got the 2014 SE model of this car, it's super nippy around the city and fuel efficient

    I rented an UP! some while ago and was very impressed with it - the old cliche that it is all the car you need really applies. It felt really well made, tight and rattle free and was quite refined. As you said, it is more than just a good first car and I would consider one if I was in the market, but I'll keep my Fiat Panda 100HP for the time being. If I were forced to change, I'd probably go for an automatic but I'm not sure that the robotised manual that was offered with these cars is much good, I'd have to try one. I identify with your expression "not-so-smart-motorways" and the fact that the discredited NCAP keeps moving the darned goal posts!

    Love the notebook like the late brake show. Better to know what you're talking about than guess. Great video as usual Daniel

      Thank you! I did use Jonny as inspiration for using the notebook, I think it's a nice touch and it means my facts are accurate :)

    As someone who had a SEAT Mii FR, these are great cars for a driver, new or otherwise. It had 74bhp and a great sounding 3 pot engine.

    The Skoda Citigo is the best car I ever had for driving around on narrow, twisty country roads. It has such good "go-kart" like handling, rather like the old mini, but more sophisticated in design. The annoying computer "entertainment" gimmickry is kept to a minimum - at least by modern standards, and the performance of the 60bhp engine is surprisingly lively. Your video I thought was excellent in describing these and many other advantages!

    Best value version is the early Seat Mii Toca. Well specced and around 3k for early ones

    in my opinion the suspension is the most remarkable thing. In bumpy cities its just fine, I would say, a little bit too stiff. But on the autobahn its perfect, even at 150 kph it feels stable.

    Brilliant car, very good. Perfect car for anyone, not just "first car". The gearbox is garbage though (reliability and durability)

    The Citigo is a good car.
    Not a hugely dynamic car and won't do a great deal to get the heart racing but far better than most of their competition.

    Great little car, no surprise you like it when it's an Up in fancy dress...
    Also... L plates??

    no first car is perfect if the price tag has more than 3 numbers

    • @DanielDrives
      @DanielDrives  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you think? It’s very hard to find a reliable, rust-free car now for sub £1000 unfortunately.

    • @toddsouthern9587
      @toddsouthern9587 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DanielDrives I reckon its hard to find a particularly reliable car for less than 2 or 3, so Id just make sure you get good breakdown, check everything before long trips, and get something thats already had a few bumps so it doesnt feel the ones youll give it. then the money you save goes towards getting a nicer second car, not just another beater to replace the first when it breaks to bad

      I totally agree and just to add my opinion, why do they say great cars for first time buyers or elderly...what about people who don't care about cars and just want something efficient to drive from A to B.

    What a small rev counter. Even a metro has a bigger one. I’m sure that layout could be better.

      @@AndyK.1 it is tiny, but I guess it’s not a vital dial unlike the speedometer.
