- Homemade TV console | Mid Century Modern
Time came to make some new furniture - TV console / media console / media cabinet / tv stand or whatever it is called.
For carcass I decided to use oak veneered MDF. On outside I put 3mm veneer, on inside 0.6mm veneer. Thicker veneer on outside protect corners and it was possible to do rounding/sanding there. Veneer is glued using contact adhesive.
For legs and drawers solid oak wood is used.
Wood bleach was used to match color to flooring. Spray finished with 2k lacquer.

This is probably the best media console video for the diy builder I've seen yet. You made a fantastic piece of furniture with the bare minimum level of specialty tools. No Domino, no jointer, no thickness planer, no BS.

Yeah - the thing i would struggle with is the planer. Will have to sacrifice and use mdf and veneer. But it comes out well although it cant be as intricate as some are.

Hi there, I saw that you use a lot of biscuits for joints and I've never used them, could you tell me if you add any screws after? Or they are strong enough to hold the boards together?

Biscuits with wood glue will be stronger than any screw. Wood to wood with wood glue ain’t coming apart

You know that you can always have a firm cut them for you and you only give them the project, dimensions and just assembly?
You can do this with a circular saw and basic tools . Not basic brain 🧠
