Maybe not, Cory Barlog said when they were writing the first game they realized they had written the second game as well so that piece is already way past done. They could maybe turn something out in 3 years now that they have a path to follow.
The way they built the world bridge always made me suspect they may have built or at least partially designed some of the worlds not visited in the first game. If that's the case then they needed to carry on with that work and sort out the story to give reasons for visiting those worlds.

I watched Giant Bombs stream for this, and really wish i would have watched KF stream instead. This matched my hype level so much more (always love for Giant Bomb though).
So apparently Sony doesn't believe in generations either. The entire argument that games like Halo Infinite were being held back because it had to be cross-gen and that Sony is at least pushing things forwards has been completely shat upon by Sony doing EXACTLY THE SAME THING and confirming that ALL PS5 games from God of War 2 to Horizon Forbidden West will be last gen games and will be playable on 7 year old PS4s. Next-gen is a myth basically.

Hector Mansilla every game they showed is on or has been on Gamepass before except the exclusives obviously. And those exclusives are ones that everyone with PlayStation has most likely played before. Still a great deal obviously but definitely wouldn’t say it’s better.
