Yes! This is intense lol so basically this is a concept teaser for their new full album comeback “Sticker” on September 17th. It’s basically to show off the concept. The idea is kinda that they’re hackers under the cover of university students. It ties into their NCT lore and NCTmentary too with the dreams and different realities, where they showcased being observed while they slept. Idk if you follow the NCT instagram accounts or the members personal accounts, but basically leading up to this throughout the last week they had changed the NCT 127 account layout to say NCIT (Neo Cultural Institute of Technology) and posted pictures pretending to be college students throughout the day and then changed the layout again in the evening to the darker concept and posted the different looks. The members even changed their bios to say their graduation year and major, all relating to technology like engineering or information systems and etc lol they put a lot of thought into this!
I was thiiiiiiiiiis close to preordering the album today haha

This is a concept video and ties into their synchronization of dreams NCT concept. Their comeback album is titled "STICKER" and comes out September 17th. (I have 5 copies of different versions pre-ordered already). This comeback album is already a million seller in the first day of preorders.
This is why Jungwoo is my bias. I've commented before that Jaehuyn was my first love but Jungwoo picked me and this video put me in the "if I were only 20 years younger" mindset.

I'm sure you know by now, but this was a teaser for their new album called Sticker! It comes out September 17th, and we are going to get 4 track videos from the album before hand throughout September!! They did this whole AU concept for the past few days and in making this by being college students by day and sexy hackers by night...I live for their performance art hahah the members were so into it too, telling us they had to go to class, had to study, etc.

So this concept is definitely connected with NCT Dream, the hacking and stuff made an appearance in Hello Future remember.
Jungwoo basically killed the whole fandom with This teaser concept.

In addition to the mv and album coming September 17th, we’re gonna get 4 track videos for songs off the album, which is basically short music videos using the shortened audio of the track to lead up to the album! We know 2 of the track videos so far will be for songs called “Dreamers” and “Magic Carpet Ride”!
Still not over Jungwoo....
You know before I watched this I thought to myself ok if anyone kills me in the teaser it will probably be Jaehyun or Taeyong maybe even Haechan but then Jungwoo pops up in a freaking crop top and my whole life is a lie!! The change from cute to sexy gave me whiplash I swear they tricked us with that cute intro and then killed us. How dare they lol.
But then again it is NCT so dying by them on the regular shouldn't surprise me anymore but I really wasn't expecting Jungwoo in a crop top they got me there.
On a side note tho they all looked so good during the cute part and then um not so cute part lol.

You probably know that in real life Taeyong has a fish tank, Yuta was a soccer player, Taeil says he likes to brush his teeth often and Johnny's always looking to make the perfect cup of coffee - so they used all those things -cute!
Can I just say that I still cant forget that RJ screamed "Ah! Screensaver!" when he saw Jaehyun in "Coming Home"

When I first watched this I was like : " Awwweee they're so adorable especially Taeyong " but then out of nowhere Jungwoo showing his ABS , Doyoung showing his muscular arms & Taeyong showing his Savage Look I was like : " WTH just happened here? They were cute a while ago and now savage looks? "
But Jungwoo killed it with his crop top he doesn't usually wear crop tops its my first time seeing him wearing one 😆😆

actually yuta has been talking abt liking jungwoo's abs since 2018 wen nct2018 happened (vlive with haechan n Jisung..they played football)...jungwoo's debut in Nct U Boss...but that guy lie so much no one believed him...then Super human happen and Jungwoo wore a crop top for the first time and most kangajis mind imploded ;))

Also, they're giving every indication that NCT is going to lean into their original "Dream" concept we got in The 7th Sense and has been obscurely touched upon throughout the years. I mean, SM as a whole is leaning hard into their alternate realities storyline called the SMCU... so expect a LOT of Kwangya and Kosmos references popping up where you least expect it.

About the concept, SM have this SM Culture Universe started by the new girl group-- Aespa, which you've already reacted to, the members has an avatar counterparts that exists digitally (like an anime). In the Black Mamba Ep 1, the phenomenon of "ae" (avatar x experience) has appeared on the real world and are currently spreading. But at the end of the episode, you'll see how the aes are being hacked (by the black mamba). They either disappeared or changed their behavior. (from kind and bubbly, to dark and somehow evil)
Lee Soo Man's plan is to involve every group in the Culture Universe. So in this NCT 127 teaser, the concept of "hacking" somehow connects to the Ep1. I hope this kinda helppp. Thank you for the reaction!

You should start looking for NCTmentary explaining the whole concept and universe for NCT, from my understanding NCT127 is bunch of hackers like Inception team, Dream is the apprentices and WayV take charge in guiding them through time and space like alternate universe. So this still be related to the main concept. Being a college student is just their undercover maybe XD

When the teaser was up, a lot of theories came up and people have been trying to connect with NCT's past lore since there is a lot going on in NCT universe per se. Since the title is "Who is Sticker", people have been trying to find out who is he within the group. Many speculated Jaehyun could be the hacker who helps sticker or he himself a sticker (bcs he is the only one with the hoodie hacker outfit and not much of a change of style as compared to the other members; plus it could be connected with Aespa universe since there was a hacker wearing a hoodie in their concept but its just a theory until now). However, other members specifically taeyong also could be Sticker based on the theories made on this video alone. Other than that, each member could have their own role which has been consistent since their past videos, mvs.. for eg haechan always holds a camera recording something ever since NCTmentary, and he is still doing the same in this Sticker teaser. So why is it so? It was fun the night this teaser dropped.
Lol jaehyun is my bias and most of us jaehyun's fans were like "he is just wearing a hoodie when the others got a cunty look? not fairr" XD but i guess he has to be in character and they just saved us from getting wrecked by jaehyun if he appeared cunty.

I think we can all agree these boys look a whole lot more like grown-ass men now. And my eyes popped out just about as much as yours at the point where Doyoung shows us his gorgeous arms and back.
I’m sure I don’t get the whole thing, but I love that they’re embracing their duality. I can also recognize at least a couple of little references:
Johnny and his coffee experiment tie back to a completely facetious story he told some of the members about how his father invented coffee.
Taeyong‘s aquarium is referencing one he and Johnny put together a while back.
Jaehyun is known for saying, “Pizza. I love pizza.”
Johnny painting his nails references a time when he and Yuta painted each other’s nails.
Yuta’s video game is pretty typical of their dorm life (at least several of them).
Haechan’s lollipop is referencing an old photo card everyone remembers.
I’m sure there’s much more, but half the fun is discovering them! 😜

You should check out their previous teasers for their older albums as well! They have all always been pretty dangerous
I think at some point you maybe need to watch / react to Yeri Potter videos on the SMCU. The concept of this is the college students who are hackers, but the accessing Dream aspect is definitely a tie into the SMCU which is frankly fascinating. There's a bunch on it but it kind of starts with EXO and then NCT and aespa, but there's an argument that Taemin is a villain within it too. SM is planning to tie in Red Velvet and SHINee too, and there's some aspects of the recent Queendom album promo that looks similar to both the fake reality SHINee promo and their Atlantis video from earlier this year, which could come to be a further part of the general universe. It's kind of a great concept.
Bottom line, SM is trying to tie all of their groups and artists together through SMCU (SM Culture Universe) in a concept like the Marvel Universe. There could be more we don't know yet; mostly due to SuperM being tied to and collaborating with Marvel through Capitol Records (this scares me to say) in addition to NCT Hollywood. Jaehyun's Captain America shirt made me ponder this more.
It's still a bit confusing but I found an article that explains it pretty well.
Part of the article says: "it defines Kwangya as a “wave” that “keeps expanding limitlessly […] beyond the infinite universe” and has no form, rules or limit. “It is also a limitless medium and can connect dimension to dimension, people within people.”
Another video released in May titled “aespa 'ep1. Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe” is wholly dedicated to explaining the SMCU’s key concepts. According to SM Entertainment’s official definitions, "ae" is one’s alter ego in the virtual world with a free will of its own. aespa’s ae have appeared in the group’s music videos in the form of computer-generated avatars.
The SMCU consists of multiple dimensions: the real world, FLAT inhabited by ae, Kwangya beyond FLAT, and Kosmo - a transcendent space that no one has reached before. An energy called P.O.S (Port of Soul) can connect the real world and FLAT.
People in the real world can either be oblivious of their ae or be aware of it and communicate with them; a process dubbed SYNK. Naevis is a mysterious being that helps humans connect with their ae. When SYNK reaches its peak, ae can Rekall, or enter the real world.
The villain of the SMCU is Black Mamba, which obstructs humans from connecting with their ae, causing a Synkout. Black Mamba is depicted as a giant serpent in aespa’s music video for “Black Mamba,” while the song explains that aespa members must fight against it." - end article.
I think NCT trolled us with spoilers to the new concept 5 months ago. After watching the Who is Sticker teaser, I remembered how similar their concept was with two classroom style videos posted on the NCT 127 TH-cam page. In those videos their personalities were similar to the teaser.
A person being referred to as a Sticker has a few meanings. A tenacious, diligent or persistent person, or someone who has a double role pretending to be fake.
In a V-live, a spoiler was the Stickers name starts with J. I thought it was Jaehyun, but if you take a look at those other videos, 👀 who has a clear double role (pretending to be a teacher then a student), whose name starts with J? And who hacked into the system in the teaser? It was Jungwoo.
So, hard telling what they're up to but it's either Jaehyun or Jungwoo. 😅 Sorry for the long ass post. The concept was bugging me until I found those other videos to confirm why it felt familiar.
