You are the only TH-camr in the entire TH-cam that actually helped me with this problem of me being really dumb and just dragging and dropping the exe into my flash drive. I thank you for curing my stupidity
For me only the exe file shows up , what do I do
I had issues with OEM keys, so I now prefer retail keys for the flexibility to move them between PCs. I had to buy keys twice before which was frustrating. Any good sites for retail keys?

For anyone still wondering if the keys work . Yes they do all the fuctions you get on the oem u get with these codes so gl .
what is oem and gl

Just to be clear, which one is losing the “baby photos”? The computer or the hard drive? Am only asking because I don’t want to wipe whatever is in my computer.
Everything that is on your computer is stored on a hard drive.
That was referring to anything that was on the USB flash drive prior to starting to download the windows media creation tool on it. Your newly build PC is already blank unless you are reusing an old hard drive. If you are reusing an old hard drive in the new build, make sure you back up anything that you want to keep.

When I did this is cancelled mid downloading and said it can run this programme

when you install windows 11 on your usb drive, the drive will be re-formatted which means erasing any data on the drive, which means that anything stored in that drive will be absolutely incinerated
Every time i turn on the pc, it boots into FreeDOS, it does let me access the BIOS but idk if the bootable USB is the issue
You may need to remake your USB drive. If you use the Microsoft media tool, you shouldn't see any FreeDos screen.
If i will do format to my pc and install again win11 pro i can use the same key or i need new ?
If its the same PC, yes, you can use the same product key.

If you have installed it on your new PC just plug in the USB and right click format it. It will be as good as new

There are no features missing at all, it will work as intended for the life of your PC, only draw back is its OEM and if you decide to get a new PC you need a new key

Use can use it on 1 single computer that you want activated. Just make sure you get the correct key to match the windows you have installed

What do you do with the usb drive after installing windows. Does it change the boot order automatically and the usb can be removed or do I have to change it in the bios manually?

For what I saw on JayzTwoCents video. He removes the usb after intalling windows. So that he doesn’t have to boot it up with the usb always.

I followed exact same steps, when I connected my usb to my new PC, getting an error "Windows cannot read the ProductKey from the unattend answer file"

@@saitamamako7949 I would remake the USB drive. Sometimes some files are missing/corrupt. If it still fails even when you remake the installer, try using another USB drive.

Just check if your PC is compatible with Windows 11 first, if you have to ask for refund you wont get it until they resale the key to someone else! Thats what i faced
Are these keys permanent?
Everything worked but when I'm connecting the Internet I'm on Ethernet cable and nothing pops up and I'm basically stuck in that page. Not even my wi fi pops up on it.... Help pls

You need some way of downloading windows boot file onto a USB.
You can use a friends computer or a library
Is 8g usb really fine to download windows 11 or should I get more?
The download will tell you exactly how much space you need. It says 8gb
For my wifi step, it only shows “Ethernet cable not connected” and no wifi connection options, is there any way to work around this??

Yea I think that your motherboard had to be able to connect to the internet without Ethernet cable chase some motherboards only work with Ethernet I’m new to this but made 1 week worth of searching

No, you could however link you old PC Microsoft account to your new one but it would mean you can't use your old PC while you are on your new pc.

I just got mines and it's instant! It wasn't delivered via email. After you place the order, you will see an option that says "Get Key". When you press it, it will give you the code.

it's Dec 10,2023 yea i bought the key today and it works. the setting to activate it froze when i tried to copy and paste it but after restarting the pc & type in the code it worked perfectly. so yea it works i used my cash app card instead of paypal. the final price was $22.80 with the IFR25 code. i might get the office software too later. thanks for help @designs by IFR

When I download windows it gets to the end and then restarts and send me to bios and makes me restart it. Could you help me out?
Make sure the drive you installed Windows onto is the first boot device. It may show up as: UEFI Windows Boot Manager or similar
i already have windows 10 pro - want to do clean install on new M.2 drive - can i link my windows 10 pro to the new M.2 that way i don't have to purchase license key ?

The only real way to know if the USB installer worked is to try it on the PC you're going to install Windows on.
Is it safe to use whokeys? How do they manage to sell the keys for so much less money than microsoft? Are there any risks or limitations associated with using whokeys?
They are safe, they are OEM keys so its a 1 time use, when you get a new pc then you need to purchase another key.

@deejay2360 oem is system locked, whereas retail you can use it multiple times but itll deactivate the previous system's key and make it the free version of windows which is limited. Also oem runs slower than retail, and has less features

I don't know who that "someone" is but that is completely incorrect. There are no performance differences between retail and OEM keys and installations.

@@obviousgreyman Well OEM keys are only meant to be sold to OEMs like HP, Dell, and system builders that sell computers. They're sold with massive discounts with the condition that they only stay with that computer and cannot be transferred to another device. So these key resellers somehow obtain product keys that were meant for OEMs and resell them. Its gray market.

?? What are you talking about? If you take out the memory, your PC won't boot since RAM is critical for the startup process. Without storage, your PC will power on and run, but you can't install anything nor will it boot from anything if the storage is not connected..... Not sure what you're trying to do.....
