I didn't have the video cache on phone enabled so I wasn't able to get the footage of a sad tragic death, but my flight log showed my mavic attempting to move out of the way in open air, I suppose the sensors sensed something or they went nutty! ... and then we drop 60 feet into the ocean!

Great video footage of the castle and area around it but that was amazing when you hit the tree branches and the Phantom kept flying. Your sense of humor and personality really add a lot of enjoyment to watching your videos. I subscribed and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Nice video Patrick and happy to see the Phantom is still in fine form after the tree encounter. Happened me once before, new gimbal and one new motor was needed so you are had a very luck day which I'm happy to see. Keep up the great work, would love to get down your direction sometime and film Crom Castle, looks lovely.

Best thing is to launch from outside their property and fly over, they can't do anything about it then, or so I was told by a reliable contact, but as you say its getting more difficult now due to scare mongering in the media, but keep filming anyway, its important us drone pilots are heard too :)
Great video, you clearly know what you're doing with the drone which just goes to show how easy it is to lose concentration, we've all done it. Also shows that DJI build a solid product. Had a similar incident at lower height and the P3S just sort of righted itself and then landed, I couldn't quite believe my eyes.

man Patrick, you've got cahones to "collect your thoughts" and kept flying after that lucky miss! I fly the mavic pro, and I remember (thinking I've got "mavic pro flying credits" like that) crashing my mavic in my city's downtown area. I was landing it between buildings, and it just started going a little off, and I panicked and sent it into a brick wall. i checked it out and it was fine, but I was so mentally wrecked after, I couldn't even fly anymore! I think crashing your drone is mentally worse than crashing your car! So, hats off to you for continuing! and you captured some really beautiful landscapes too after continuing! boy that phantom has got a nice crisp lens! thumbs up! 👍

I think the P4 might have better image quality and more stable than the maverick pro. Nice video, your filming/editing style is very Casey Neistatesque :) Thank goodness your drone lives another day (luck of the irish). I had a close call with a seagull at benone beach when it tried to attack my drone.
Luck of the Irish, thank God I had it that day... i have heard several people talk about the birds attacking drones in the sky so I will keep that in mind. Im still trying to find my editing style for now i can only imitate the ones i see on here, yeah casey is a big influence. Interesting comment comparing it to the mavic for now ill stick with this one until i loose it in the water....touch wood that doesn't happen...thanks for the comment....i havent seen any drone footage more stable than your one of "Doan and the Mourne Mountains" :-)
Man that suckssss getting those drones crashed means to much pain and seeing it carash makes me tense up! Lessons learned in life! Try our best to not crash our drones! so much money out the window when we break our film equipment :( Just subbed and thanks for dropping by! loving your vids...I love my Mavic Pro, but I am waiting on its return, if you watch my vid you commented on, and look at the middle right of all of the shots you notice its out of focus...it was the now famous or infamous lens assembly error, but bout a day and half and 3 emails worth of contact and they sent me a prepaid UPS label ad said sorry send it back...so it went to repair center in CA, and they fixed it in like a day and its on its way back...yay...and yes I would buy it again, and will always keep one of these...it is incredible and intelligent...so yeah, I recommend the Mavic, and DJI, they done right by me...I will be posting some more vid next week after I get it back to follow up....Cheers

i've crashed my drone twice.....the first crash was into the side of a parked vehicle while attempting to land it and then 1 1/2 week later i crashed it again nearly into another parked vehicle lol...luckily the only damage was the props on both incidents
yeah the owner of the house came down and asked me not to fly too close and if I wanted to I needed to make a formal petition in writing....so at least I got it from afar....thanks for commenting
It only happened last week. I took out DJI care refresh so I'm hoping they will fix it under that repair policy. It arrived with them yesterday so I should find out soon.

turttles also carry a lot of things.. mavic will transform your turttle suitcase into a tiny sport billy bag with anything u will ever need

well it can be a bit scary and the more confident I get I take more risks, which isnt always a good thing....
you were so lucky i agree, easily done though. I do try not to fly too near trees i admit, might be easier to see when the leave are on the trees
