Fantastic news regarding your rent. i have had some right horror stories this last couple of weeks regarding rent increases .Not sure what the answer is for people and families that can't stretch to the new increase. We have a meeting next week and have a couple of people from the council a person from shelter coming to do a talk on how best we can help and advise anyone coming to the centre for help 😢
That is such a relief. I suppose the landlord wants to have reliable and trusted tenant, so the good karma pays off. Most normal people understand that forking out half a year's rent is too much for many.
When I am doing long jobs in the garden, I listen to long audiobooks on a little MP3 player. When I am working indoors, I listen with my blue tooth earbuds. Better than just listening to neighbours kids, neighbours coughing and their dogs barking.

I totally empathise with your heating dilemmas , you are still relatively young so I am sure you will be ok for many years yet . Health issues can occur as we age due to cold air in our homes as you are Probably aware , I have barely used heating for years but I may have to pay this year as I became very unwell last winter and cold air may have contributed, take care x Good news about rent , hurrah 🎉
I bought myself a couple of ponchos on Amazon. They may blow up in wind though. I think they need some wire to hold them down a bit. I am size 16 and they hide the bad bits too. Ponchos are great for keeping you cool if you are walking.
Mine have metal rings in the corners of the hem so you can also use it as a canopy sheet. I was thinking about adding weights to the corners but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. :)
Is that Ste and Janine that u mention, Claudia (living in a tent suddenly)? They r in a caravan now as some1 kind donated it. Congrats on the rent situ. Will u go car camping back at Lake District? U r right this year has flown by. Im dreading winter as last year was hard work!!

I'm part of many 'communities' here & USA. The minute Claudia mentioned the couple in the tent, I thought wow if that's Ste & Janine, wot a small world TH-cam can b!
It is yes. I did see the video about them getting their caravan but it was after I had recorded this. At least they've gone one up the rung of the ladder! It seems a lot more cosy. I might go back to the Lakes. It depends on what draws me there. I prefer to go to places where I have an interest so I would have to do some more genealogy research to see who is up that way.
Brilliant news about the rent Claudia and your new cleaning job sounds hopeful. I hope you manage another car camping trip before the colder weather sets in. Yes Autumn has definitely arrived and we haven’t had much of a summer 🫤. I’m going to look into bubble wrap for our bedroom. We live in a bungalow and our bedroom is at the back which is the coldest side and we have patio doors as opposed to windows so a fair amount of potential heat loss. We use blackout insulated blinds and curtains at night but the bubble wrap would help especially during the day 🙂
I hate cleaning with a passion it is faffy, never ending and sometimes a waste of time. I think cleaners should be paid more because it's bloody hard work and stressful.
@marleyite Society do have a snobby attitude and cleaning is a hard job with skill, it is stressful and boring. I do find it strange when people say it is easy or even enjoyable. Let's pay cleaners more.

I've had a few blow up mattresses but I prefer a memory foam pad... you can roll it up, cut it to size and it won't puncture!

It is exhausting. I couldn't do more than 3 hours at most in a day.
