The first mystery item is conduit! The outer insulation protects the cables it's wrapped around, and keeps them bundled together. It's definitely recyclable if you've got the right machine to shred it and pull out the copper. And there looks to be quite a bit in there. Stick that on the side, it's likely worth something! You could shred the cardboard and turn it into compost, though. You'd have to find a way to get the tape out, but the rest would rot down just fine. Worms love rotten cardboard.
The stuff on the black spools is Coaxial cable (trunk and feeder) for cable TV. The sticky stuff in the cable is called flooding compound, which is intended to leak out and keep the aluminum protected if the outer jacket gets damaged. Too bad you cant run some incinerators for the wood and such, but im sure that would be too costly. Thanks for the video!
@@TheRealMrDiGG Yep definitely thought the same thing, looked like feeder cable line that gets strung up on the hydro poles. 100% has copper in it. Even if it’s only 10-20% recovery @4 per lb.
Watching from Sheffield in the UK, I never thought I would find landfill and mulching so fascinating. What a great collection of proper big toys you have at your disposal.
You talk about that log not breaking up, but I’m more impressed with how much it compacted down into the floor. Really shows how everything squishes. I’d still love to see a video with Dad about the history of the landfill and the companies
Awesome video ryan buddy, i cant get over how smoth an level yalls tippin floor is, the landfill i goto ,just getting up the side of the mountain road is a chore, rougher than hell man, i mean rough rough, holes, boulders sticking up,big dips,an the tippin floor is on the very top of mountain an its rougher yet, thanks for sharing an I look forward to seeing the next video 🇺🇲💪✊👌🤙👍
As always love the videos. So glad that your dad is doing ok and staying with you. Im sure he has the best care. God bless you and him and stay safe brother.
I hope your dad is able to get out and ride a little by now. Would help his spirit to keep an eye on everything I’m sure. Help keep everyone in line too!!🤣🤣
your site is ideal for future mining of resources "remediation "as it does not include "decomposing garbage" ,like a regular land fill , so way less toxic compared too demo waste decomposition on future miners too deal with , as long as you can avoid any of the asbestos that get buried , maybe set aside a special local for the buried asbestos and not buried in the general waste , too improve future remediation of the site too extend the over all life too the site , the base of the new pit is great if all the whole base gets covered filled asbestos maybe a thick white sand layer to mark the cover of the asbestos then trash on top , you know not too go beyond the top cover white sand layer when future mining could take place so as not too disturb the asbestos layer base , thus then can be refilled above that white cover base layer keeping the asbestos in tombed and reclaiming the recycling and back filling the non recyclables , that would be in a perfect world ,but hey why not strive for perfection or as close as possible and become the industry leaders 🤓
Here in Arizona. We don't waste very much down here in the valley and try to get recyled. We have our own bins. My neighbor and I will take our medals to a recycling center. Get paid money even though it is a little bit every cent counts. Very much, enjoy your channel. I learn things every day. Thank you for sharing.😊
The problem is the profits aren't there at the levels companies want if the product lasts a long time. I just replaced the electric wood chipper I had, the switch went bad. At the same time the motor was starting to go and there were other issues creeping up. The price of the switch was 30 dollars and the motor was 80. For that price it doesn't make financial sense to repair it. Love the content, I just wish there were more companies like yours.
Great business Mr. Digg! Thank for shooting the video! You may have done so already and I missed it but give us a run down of your team…when you and your father are off the property who is the go to person for the guys there working?? Thanks!!

Those tirers are probably stolen and they are trying to get rid of the evidence just wanted to let you know that okay thanks Charles Williams later on jelly beans lololol okay thanks again Charles Williams later gator
That cable is high voltage cable that’s what we used on our continuous miners underground coal mines and they were 995 volts so that cable is well worth recycling you’re probably looking at 1500 to 2000 dollars. So definitely recycle it.
And those silvery cables are aluminum power lines and would be worth some good profit if scrap aluminum prices ever rise up to make the aluminum market worth putting in the back and arm braking work
Ya looked kinda like ACSR cable if it was aluminum in that massive reel of cable. The white like on it types gives it away for a neutral cable and the steel cable that allows it to hang overhead that is spooled together with it.
Great video Ryan . Really enjoy your videos. Glad to hear your dad is doing better. How much are they large blocks with the horses them. I would like to come get a few from you. Thanks for your time answering my questions. See you next time.
Been watching a while now and love the passion for recycling and heavy machinery footage. Common thread on top of the landfill is a lot of wind.Just had a thought that once you move to a new cell has any consideration or thought of putting a wind farm up there to create electricity for your business and possible sell back into the local electrical grid? I mean even solar panel's up there is also an option...i know the setup cost might be expensive unless an energy provider leasing the land to create a wind farm or solar plant
@23:16. That's old time cable TV that still has the strand on it. They are wrecking it out all over the United States replacing with fiber optic that stuff is worthless.
You’re right if big companies would help with cost of recycling the waste they deposit into your landfill then you could do like you said recycle more of the waste they’re putting on the landfill so you could build your recycling systems that would help you and cover cost of paying workers who could use a job and help the landfill and the planet become more productive recycling like some other countries have invested into their recycling ♻️ infrastructure and in the USA 🇺🇸 we do waste a lot of stuff but i think you’re doing a hell of job talking about what could be and really should be done 👍😎🇺🇸 NY
You can only do what you can if more people watched the videos and understood your prospective they would take a lil time to sort out recyclables before it even arrives at the dump

Haha people are a bunch think they now it all's that is networking cable and for the time and effort spent removing the outer rubber shield you will only 5% profit per ton so un less you have 1,000,000 tons not worth jack crap I've also scraped more cables and copper wire and pipes than 99.99% of people that install the stuff so take that to the bank and deposit it lol hahah hahaha

Perhaps you try altering the tyre pressures on the compactor's solid metal wheels for a smoother ride? 😂😂
Great idea 😂
Send that metal ring with the fiber optic on it to DP and MBTS. They could make another tile cart out of it. lol 😂 😂😂
Wish they were closer and I would!
Capital waste has been buying up a bunch of landfills in the southeast. They just bought one near me in Myrtle Beach.
Yes, I’ve heard of them

that wire can be recycled it has a lot of copper in it and it's vary heavy

Sure could, if I had the time to separate them out

Do you radio back to the weighbridge and tell them that illegal waste was dumped and then increase the dump fee when they weigh off?
We usually catch it as soon as it comes off the truck and load it back on them. If it takes more time than usual we will charge a fee
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN ALL THE LANDFILLS ARE FULL?
Then finally people will recycle
