You made it so simple. Now I will not let all those breadfruits around me go to waste. People here in St. Kitts scorn the breadfruit, they call it pig food, but I believe it is because they don't know how to make tasty things with it, such as smoothie, breadfruit chips, bake, fried or roast breadfruit. I now have a new appreciation for breadfruit. Thanks again.
thank you I have a breadfruit and wanted to make chips for my kids, but I usually boil d breadfruit first. I'm going to try it your way, it looks so much easier and tasty
My parents are from Goa - a coastal paradise in India. We make our breadfruit in a similar way. This looks really good. I cant wait to see more of your videos.
Thank you for your recipe. I enjoy Ulu (HAWAIIAN) breadfruit and always searching different international recipes. I'm about to harvest a few now and use you marinade. Mahalo from Waimanalo Hawaii.
Instead of using a knife to cut the breadfruit in pieces, when I used to help my Mom in the kitchen, I would use a slicer. I would just set it to the desired thickness, and just about every piece had a uniform shape and size.
BREADFRUIIT CHIPS PART 1 TASTE OF TRINI. First i must say i enjoy watching your video on breadfruits. I have grown up eating breadfruits roasted and cooked , but i didnt know that you could make breadfruit chips with raw bread fruit. I am going to try your recipe and see how it taste. I think you should let the breadfruit soak in some salted water to let the salt penetrate through it to have a good flavor. I am still eating breadfruit because i liked it. Since breadfruits can be used in many different ways, i think the farmers should plant more bread fruit trees and making living or money from it.
OMG this looks soooo yummy.....I never seasoned it before , I just usually fry the chips and sprinkle with salt.....I will definitely try this way......love this idea! Great job!
The yellow-fleshed breadfruit is preferred in Trinidad as most people say that it taste better. Is there a way to tell the yellow from the whiter breadfruit when you're buying it?
Wish the good old days could return ... had these yummy chips as a child together with green plantain ones - many years have just slipped by and these would be a lottery win to the taste bud today. Don't get in my parts but thank you for rekindling the memory.🇬🇧 🌷🌷🌷🌷
Amazing, my mouth is watering. When adding salt before frying does it not draw the moisture out and make it a bit soggy? Does the seasoning taste burnt? Kudos on another wonderful video!
Nope, adding salt doesn't do that, only if you leave it for an excess of maybe 5 hours. It tastes absolutely delicious, the seasonings don't taste burnt
Nice video, the breadfruit u used is called Ma'afala, recognized it by the seed in it. The branches are low and u can easily reach and hand pick the breadfruit unlike regular yellow and white breadfruit.Love the touchwith enamel plate and wood block, makes it feel like ole' time days....lol
I never seasoned the breadfruit before frying it though, i always fry it like normal fries and eat it with a ketchup sause!...Id love to try it like this as well, looks soo good!!!
what was the "bandana" greens? Any other name for them or description of flavor..Sounds good. Very well described and I like the way the seasons were blended. Do you know the variety of breadfruit? mahalo
This is one of my favorite childhood snacks. Never had it with seasoning, but I love the idea...will try it. Love the enamel plates....tried to buy them on EBay, but was too expensive 😒
looks, yummy can we find the fruit in the USA if yes do you have some ideas on what stores if not do you have any link where one can order online thank you so much remain blessed
Hey, you can check the West Indian markets....here's also a website www.sams24-7.com/foods/BREADFRUIT-FROZEN-12-OZ.aspx but the breadfruit is frozen. When it's frozen the chips don't come out that great.
very interesting video we learn new things everyday...never seen the chips being made from the raw breadfruit before..I have seen it either boiled and fried or roasted and dipped in salt water and fried. Also Thanks for showing me a breadfruit seed☺
Love the Pedal Steel Guitar playing in the background. You make great videos! In another video you mentioned a store on Liberty Avenue that sells Breadfruit. I didn't catch the name. Can you give that info again? Thanks!
GOOD JOB!.... PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF THE GAS LINE...U MIGHT accidentally pull it, and everything (hot oil) will spill over and burn you.... if u have little ones, be sure to keep them back from your cooking area.... that's one of my greatest fears, is having a child burn with hot oil.... God Bless u and ur show...
I have to tell you, I was so blessed the day we were chatting you were helping me looking for the breadfruit. after calling Market you gave me the link to and talking with the lady it was more expensive to ship it then to purchase it and that was the baked Frozen, so I tried looking other places here in Arizona and online. About 7 o'clock my time the spirit of God told me to call Lee Lee's Market which is a big huge Asian market they have food from all over the world all cultures. I called they answered and I was asking them do they have the breadfruit Frozen she said yes but we also have it fresh I couldn't believe what I was hearing I said you have the fresh one it comes off the tree she said yes we got a big shipment in today I said although I have been looking for this all day and I asked could she please hold 4 for me because she said they were so many buying them so she did she help me and I went today to pick them up. So I get to make my bread fruit chips just as you have shown me on your video and I have everything else in the house already so I had to share this with you thank you so much for taking the time out this is me I'm looking for the breadfruit Lee Lee's Market in Arizona was the only place that has the fresh bread fruit and I got it the day they came in once again I just want to say thank you and I really enjoyed watching your videos and you do reply and you do a cyst whenever we'd need assistance you do your best and I think you so much now when I get ready to prepare them I will take a picture and I have to learn how to load it up on TH-cam but I have some teenage boys that I know can assist me I can't wait to do it thank you so much you are truly blessed and I say you shall remain blessed amen

I feel like the breadfruit is so underrated...it's better than potato...

so mouth watering just looking at it being seasoned alone and I know it's yummy! 😋

It was nice to see the one fertile seed inside, which is becoming more uncommon in Hawaii.
Amazing, my mouth is watering. When adding salt before frying does it not draw the moisture out and make it a bit soggy? Does the seasoning taste burnt? Kudos on another wonderful video!
