I love the Irene and I love the interactions between her and her doctor. I love how the doctor wasn’t shy about yelling so she can hear him, it’s huge because most people that hard of hearing end up pretending to hear because it becomes a challenge on both ends to continually remind one another.
I REALLY admire all these students! I think Karen is amazing and will inspire indigenous kids to pursue their dreams. What a great, intelligent and down to earth lady! And one with tremendous common sense and courage.
I think all med students should be put in a hospital, where they know no one, and learn what its like to be a patient. Bed side manner should be a class where if the student fails, they have to retake not just the class, but more.
It is actually really really hard and they have learned every single thing even the smallest things, or they will fail... the professors don't show any forgiveness to the students My brother is a medical student and I see what he is going through I think it depends on the country too, you can get a medical degree easier in some countries which is very bad I'm not sure about the manner though
I love the variant of all these med students. I think people assume that every doctor knows everything and it’s just not true. And now just like we google all of our symptoms doctors have tools to research symptoms in the same way so they can offer more and more knowledge and treatment options than ever before. But that doesn’t mean that they go to school less or work less or the amount of time they are required to be a student or resident is less. They still get much less sleep and much less to eat and no life until they reach a certain point in their career.
She's true though... Most of the times, your doctor doesn't need to be smart, just able to follow the protocol and guidance manual... They just need to work very hard to commit all those manuals to memory. In med school, you're "smart" if you know stuff, not if you can be a deep thinker about the human body.
Hamilton Ontario 🇨🇦 McMaster university Hospital and St Catharines hospital which is awful. I've been in both for major surgery as well as the ER and St Catharines hospital is awful all around.

Rest In Peace Dr Alyson Brodeur. She passed away in 2009 from a long battle with an illness. She was a palliative care doctor.
"You would be scared shitless." I like him! 😸 He gets it. QTπ too.
Impressive

Karen lost me with " you don't have to be smart, you just need to have common sense ". Sorry, I would like my doctor to be smart. SMH
Definitely

@@ippeikawano8032 I disagree. 100%
I am sure what she meant is that you don’t have to be a Genius.
@@debbieherrera1605 then that is what she should have said......communication is a huge part of being a physician. I would not want to be her patient.
The nurse that is downplaying the hard work and skills it takes to be a dr needs to be kicked off the staff! Karen doesn’t take this serious enough.
I didnt hear where they said Karen lived but I can tell its Hamilton, because of the "mountain" behind her
McMaster is also in Hamilton. 😃
Wow 🤩
Loads of fun watching what my niece is doing on the journey to Family Practice Physician.💖
“I SLEEP I DIE, KEEP ME AWAKE.”
NOICE I LOVEEE WRITING IN CAPSSS
The lack of gloves being used in the surgeries is very concerning.
Karen : you don’t have to be smart to be a doctor. You just need common sense.
Karen : I don’t know any of this.
When was this filmed?? It looks so old
In the year 2003
What country is this? First time watching this series - very interesting.

1:49 Well, it looks to me that he should have chosen to be a concert pianist! His talent chose for him...👍
First off knock off the name bullying. Second yes I agree shesn't not the sharpest crayon, but don't write her off. She might make it yet.

Mate don’t call people that you don’t know that well a Karen, becuase they could be having a bad day or angry over something in THEIR LIFE
Do you love me one like one bottle of wine
No
Jk
Karen is so unprepared, and generally slow witted, as to be dangerous to patients. What on earth? How is she allowed near patients?
Heehee
I would be surprised if Karen made it as a doctor. Knew nothing about the different kind of heart blocks and she was working in ICU?! Bit embarrassing
