    Grimaldo joining Leverkusen on a free was absolutely wild a year ago… for years he’d been linked to every major European club. I’ve followed Leverkusen for many years and always been brewing something. But only to be raided and sell their best players. As soon as they announced grimaldo I knew this year was gonna be the real deal.

    Please consider that this is not good work in the Bundesliga. The clubs normally have no owner or investors. That's why covid hit many clubs severly. Leverkusen has an investor who made them lose nothing in that time. And all in all negative 50 million is a huge amount for the Bundesliga. So please don't talk about such things like Leverkusen plays in the PL.

It means that the club mainly belongs to the fans. However in the last few decades there were sadly inconsistancies. One of them is Levetkusen. The Bayer company sponsers them and gives them multiple millions per year. That's the main reason why they stand on top at the moment. These are 2 completly different situations.

If you look on the tables of the last 10-15 years you will see that they finished almost every season in the top 4. The financial differences in the league have become even more extrem throughout Corona and leverkusen winning the title is another sign for this.

      Not really, just go back a bit and it will even out more. It's a net loss of 10m per year with CLor UEFA Cup and not even half of Dortmund salary's. Just with Wirtz they will get a giant profit next year or the year after. Demirbay was just the worst signing in the club history.

    You need to add that they have a sponsor with Bayer which just erased their debts which Leverkusen had in the Corona Seasons (2020-2022). This is a big factor on why Leverkusen had a advantage on other clubs. Its not just good work

    In my opinion it's ridiculous to label this as good work for a bundesliga team. A deficit of 50 million is a lot for a bundesliga team and considering they had a few flop signings like demirbay you must state that they wouldn't be at this point without the backing of the bayer group, especially after corona.

      They could sell a few players if they wanted and they'd have made up the deficit fourfold. That's why it's called an investment. All Bundesliga teams have investors, and the Covid effect on the teams is overstated. A lot of the teams have been making losses for no reason even without Covid. Leverkusen has just been managed much better than a lot of their competitors
