South coast here, last time snow was bad was 1st March 2018. I remember it because i am a driver, was working for Iceland. Told them Asda, Tesco etc all had cancelled their drivers for the day from the heavy snow the day prior. But they demanded we drive. 10 minutes later, I'm stuck in the snow. Couldnt move the van. Undug the wheels, got stuck a few yards ahead. After the fifth time, I called it quits. Told work, they sent the VMU to tow me back, only for them to get stuck too. Was a long day. Not seen snow down here since.
Its absolutely wonderful seeing families outside having fun together for once, down with the electronic gadgets & out in the elements, the snow may be a curse for motorists, but a darn site more fun for taboganing👏👏👏👏👏
I woke up to a blanket of snow at 6 a.m. Very picturesque. My family in 3 other countries shared their snowy photos. Mine was the best. 2nd Bavaria. 3rd Scotland. 4th America. Stay safe everyone.
Not even proper snow, should have been around during the winter of 1962/63. As a five year old we still had to walk to school through drifts four to five feet deep
I raise you 1982 snow as high as hedgerows, no trains for nearly a week, roads completely blocked, opened the back door to a 14ft wall of snow and had to fight the way through it into 4ft of snow in the back garden. Awesome 👌 Nature at its finest!
Fun at times but when you get into an accident then it's not fun. Nothing wrong with heat in the summer how do you think kids in Spain or other places feel. Don't close the school just because of snow if you can walk than do
Unfortunately this is no longer the case; a few flakes of snow anywhere in the Central Belt and it’s media mayhem nowadays. The difference with a few decades ago is everyone driving everywhere
1964 it snowed every day for 5 weeks, snow drifts the height of double-decker buses, schools closed as the coke deliveries could not get through, the army cleared paths to shops, all Cliff Mitchelmore said each night, it snowed again today and it will tomorrow,
Educating the UK population about the benefits of winter tires could significantly reduce traffic disruptions. Currently, I would say 90% of drivers use summer tires year-round, even in winter. While not a complete solution, switching to winter tires would improve safety in snow and icy conditions and likely decrease the need for the media coverage showing vehicles struggling in minimal snowfall. 🤣
Great to see people enjoying themselves in this miserable country. I hope the snow stays for a while yet! If you don't like it, just sit on your backside 😂.
Trouble is not everyone can take your ‘advice’ as they have to work, travel etc. and therefore have to encounter the danger and disruption (like me, as I am a gritter/snowplough driver)
Where in UK this is? I just came from London to Scotland and none of the cities I’ve been to in the past couple of days had any snow, just all above zero
I am amazed at how many people don't know how to drive in the snow, they buy big car some 4 wheel drive and they still struggle sliding all over the place, take you time leave a gap and pull away in 2nd or 3rd gear.
There was some lovely snow when I went to bed last night, sadly by morning it had all melted and been replaced with torrential rain and horrid wind all day and evening :(
when it hits here in the uk most of the population dunno how to drive now days i was taught by my father rigorously and never had an issue plus everyone keeps using low profile tyres instead of regular tyres absolutely useless them things are get a normal car get normal tyres and LEARN TO DRIVE!
@walter4180 no. (For obvious reasons I can't say where) But I literally live in one of the areas/really close to one that the video mentions and there is absolutely no snow
I live in West Cumbria in Seascale🌊, it’s been 🌧️raining here, and there’s sleet forecast for tonight. However, the Fells and Scafell Pike in Wasdale which is in the Lake District are covered in snow, and I’ve heard that Shap has been covered by 10 cms. of snow, but that’s normal after all it’s January! I talked to my eldest son who lives in Carlisle and it’s only been raining there! However, I was concerned due to the Amber weather warning issued by the Met office, as he’s driving up to Glasgow tomorrow in his company car, so I told him if the weather deteriorates to turn back and go back home, as he once got stuck in a huge snow drift in Scotland and he had to dig his way out of it!🧗♀️🚵⛰️⛺️🏡🙏🏻🏴🇬🇧👋😊
We do love a good snow day. Well done for reporting on the fun positive side of a heavy snow day ✨🙌🏻👏🏻🙏
As a child my Mum used to take me and pal to School on a sledge..Happy days
I love taking my kids snowboarding! They absolutely love it ❤ I miss all of these memories ❤
South east of England here . Sadly no snow for about the last three years 😢 I miss the snow .I remember the snow in Scotland when I was a youngster
maidstone had snow but did not last long
New Ash Green in North Kent had plenty of snow on Saturday night.

Sadly true. We haven’t had proper snow here for quite some time
Obviously news reporters didn’t grow up in the 60.s when we had proper winters
I guess the real story is that global warming has made snow a rarity in the Uk. It’s 12 degrees and raining where I am
So we should have OAPS as reporters. When Britain was great and not woke. Is that what you want Jo
@@Si3rr4WoWto be clear it's not man made. The earth's axis has moved
when i was young 30year ago we have 40-60cm of snow 4months not 1cm 4hours was beautiful
@ you want more of that? Where elderly are closed off from going out
Its absolutely wonderful seeing families outside having fun together for once, down with the electronic gadgets & out in the elements, the snow may be a curse for motorists, but a darn site more fun for taboganing👏👏👏👏👏
Its called winter and l believe snow is quite normal in winter, but youd think it was something alien according to all media sources
Welcome to the uk
@@mandyward5372 Nah nobody cares, just the press.
It's rare we get it nowadays 🤷 enjoy 😊
Snow is not very common in the UK, especially not that much
People need to stop saying "It's winter🙄" like absolute muppets
@@gamerboyx8243 fr like if u dont know what its like in UK dont speak up.

Mine was the best.
2nd Bavaria.
3rd Scotland.
4th America.
Stay safe everyone.
As a child- we all used to go to school and work and nothing bad happened, that’s barely snow. Get a grip…
Yet here in my part of the UK it was gone within a few hours of daylight by midday you wouldn't even know it had snowed
South of England?
The snow has settled from the Midlands to the North
Well you are lucky.!
Ditto Coating of snow after midnight, but soon gone in the morning. Worcs.

Ahh Durham Catherdral, in the the beautiful Durham City... Apparently in Northumberland.
Had lots of fun in the snow today.

Bet it hurt to put’ joy’ in the title.
Not even proper snow, should have been around during the winter of 1962/63. As a five year old we still had to walk to school through drifts four to five feet deep
Also a veteran of 1962/63, but you must have burrowed to school. Snow drifted across the fields and piled up along the hedges.
You think you’re tough?
And dont forget 2010 and the recent Beast from the East.
I raise you 1982 snow as high as hedgerows, no trains for nearly a week, roads completely blocked, opened the back door to a 14ft wall of snow and had to fight the way through it into 4ft of snow in the back garden. Awesome 👌 Nature at its finest!

I captured much of that in song. Wonderful and inspirational.
They deserve some fun after their hot dry summers. ☃️❄️⛄️❄️

It was nowhere near hot last summer 😂
Last summer was the coolest summer on record, mate😂
There is nothing fun about snow!
I was at Moss Bank Park sledging, it was so much fun
I love how kids are happy with not a lot of things ❤
Nothing here, rain and temperatures of 12c BRING IT ON!!!!
Heavy snow! Its only a few inches. They will quote mm because it sounds more.
Agreed. And started naming storms so it sounds more dramatic. And incessant weather warnings when it's just winter.
I remember 1990s snow days they was good times but snow these days are nowt it comes an goes same day
In london we got snow for an hour than it rained
Didn’t snow like this in my ends
I woke up 4am there was snow everywhere. Went back to bed. Woke up 8am snow was gone 😢
That’s the trouble with enough it don’t last 5 minutes
A bit of snow is considered breaking news, ffs 🤦
Amazing scenes to a Londoner - we havent had a songke flurry, here!
If you go to Sky news they tell you everyone should be miserable. All doom and gloom.😂
Same with GB News and Talk TV. Although 95% of their reporting is all about immigrants.
That’s what they get paid for. They aren’t allowed to be happy 😀
When this happens in Scotland, it never gets a mention.
More two tier reporting
Unfortunately this is no longer the case; a few flakes of snow anywhere in the Central Belt and it’s media mayhem nowadays. The difference with a few decades ago is everyone driving everywhere
Waiting for the first reporter to utter "whiteout" whilst showing us the traffic freely moving behind them. Happens every year.
Sled? This isn’t a Charlie Brown cartoon
fkn is, was building snowmen at 8am high off my bean pal
1964 it snowed every day for 5 weeks, snow drifts the height of double-decker buses, schools closed as the coke deliveries could not get through, the army cleared paths to shops, all Cliff Mitchelmore said each night, it snowed again today and it will tomorrow,

I did this as a kid and never got on the news 💁

Midlands and North of England
A little bit in Southern Scotland but not considerable
Its been snowing like mad in Newcastle and Durham.
Sledge, not sled (unless the Times has suddenly become American).
The ‘extreme’ weather is a convenient smokescreen to avert your eyes from far bigger issues
Where exactly was this in the UK??
From the north east eng lol I thought I was waking up to alot of thick snow but no it's just wet haha
What riveting news content.

It was light snow for 2 to 3 hours. Followed by drizzle. Now it's mild 10-12°C, and wet. South West uk. Inside the boundary of the Amber Alert zone.

I feel for all the pensioners who will have to decide to eat are heat😢
And now it's gone and 12 outside ... amber warning for heat ?
Nothing to do with Edinburgh unfortunately
Nothing to do with London neither
