I think the most important thing to know when you start animation is JUST GET IT DONE. It doesn't HAVE to look perfect, just DO it!!! I seriously struggle with perfectionism in art. I envision what it COULD be and not what it SHOULD be. In addition, I want to animate things that are +30 seconds, and some even +2 minutes. Yeah, I've yet to finish a single animation... Still trying to actually follow this tip I mentioned at the beginning of my comment.
yeah pretty much i also see a lot of people stall on making something they want to make, because they're "not good enough yet". but the thing is that when you try making something you want to be able to make, that is precisely how you get better at doing that thing
This is exactly me. I can't even animate a bouncy ball yet my imagination is running wild and I want to make so many things yet I haven't even developed the skills at all.

It's amazing how much art and animation skills can improve in just few years. I started to animate around 2012 and i'm sad that i deleted most of my old animations from my old channel. It's fun to watch how much you can improve on art by looking at your old work.
I know other people have probably said it, but I need to say it. “I’m Still Here” is a perfect name for this map. Everything you said about why you animate I agree with completely. While I haven’t done any animations (yet) everything you said resonates with me about why I love to draw.
Frame interpolation is a perfect example of a computer not knowing what to do with the inbetweens :,D The inbetweens aren't always supposed to just mark the middle point between two frames, that usually just makes the movement look kind of unnatural. I would have loved to go into the inbetweening in this video but I think that maybe it would be better explained by someone who has studied this stuff
Never give up. Breathe life into your work. Create entire worlds. Show people the type of universe residing within your mind. It's the truest form of expression.
Never be afraid to fail, everything takes time & everyone has low points, but never give up. Your lowest point, your worst work, is not what defines your skill; your highest point does, and while at some point you can’t keep doing down, you can ALWAYS go up! So rise up, and fail time and time again, but never stop the climb! One day your dream, your goal, you’ll reach it up there! 😊
Videos like this remind me of the time I charged up my old tablet from 2015, I used to animate on flipaclip and I made a character called spike who was a black wolf with green highlights on the ends of his hair, and I would do just random ‘edgy’ animations on him 😂. I still animate now on my iPad and I’m still using flipaclip, and I’m happy with how far I’ve come! And I find it so cool to see other people who feel the exact same way as I do when I look at my old art and animations 😭😂✌️
