I’m very surprised! Me and my family want to go so bad, but we’re vegan as well. I heard someone say “If you’re vegan, Italy is not for you.” It’s refreshing to see so many delicious options available so we can still get the full experience. Awesome video!
Brava, bel video! In reality, Italian cuisine is already vegan friendly because it'is a Mediterranean diet. We use extra virgin olive oil for seasoning and cooking, almost never butter. The ingredients are fresh, there are many vegetables and fruits. The ancient recipes of our dishes are often vegan or vegetarian, because they are made with legumes, pasta, or pizza or focaccia. So just ask when you go to a restaurant, even if you just remove an ingredient and the dish becomes vegan. In all supermarkets, bars, restaurants, hotels there are vegan options.

This is what I thought but in a lot of cases they make their pasta with egg and also most of the sauces aren’t vegan! My Italian friend told me that it’s actually super hard to make a good tomato sauce haha so that’s why most places don’t have a plain one. Not sure if that’s true but it was sometimes hard to find. Of course if I asked they could do it but it was never a standard option on a menu!
@@OliveraDarkoSuper hard to make a good tomato sauce?!? It's just the opposite: it's super easy! Are you sure your friend is really Italian? 😂
Most of the time just skipping the sprinkle of Parmigiano on top makes the food vegan. And for pasta: tagliatelle, pappardelle, tagliolini and stuffed pasta (and usually lasagne) are egg pasta, but spaghetti, penne, fusilli and tens and tens of others are just water and flour.
I'm not a vegan, but my sister is and it's easy for her to have vegan food almost anywhere here in Italy.
Germany does have drinking water fountains!

Sorbe ice, mostly fruit variations, e.g. mango, is made with water (and fruit purre), thus vegan. It is also available at the ordinary gelateria. Check next time.
Not the biiiiiiggggest fan of sorbet! I mean I like it and when they have a good chocolate sorbet then I’m all in! But my fave ice cream is chocolate so that comes first 😂

I will be traveling around Italy with my mom next fall (driving from Rome to Milan) ; she is not vegan (she loves cheese actually :() but I am, and was already wondering if I was going to suffer finding vegan options! . I was going to rely on Happy Cow , does it work there?
