Really really loved how you guys added the history and culture audio to the hike! We have fallen in love with the Hawaiian Islands and can only get there once a year (so grateful for that!). Watching your uploads makes me feel like I’m back there ❤️
At this point, you guys feel like family to us. We discovered you in 2018 while planning for our honeymoon, and continued watching every single video (loved the sunsets during covid lockdown). We loved Big Island so much we took our teenagers back with us last summer, and again... your content was so helpful. Thanks to you, our family enjoyed beaches, hikes, great food and scenery we wouldn't possibly have tried from a guide book suggestion. Keep doing what you're doing, and we'll keep watching and planning our next trip back to Big Island, home in our hearts.
We stayed at the Westin Hapuna a few years ago and walked a little ways north and south. LOVED taking this walk with you! We love the Big Island and miss it so much. One day we will be able to safely return. Until then, we follow you for our Aloha fix.
It's about 2.5 miles each way. (Truth alert..we spent over 3 1/2 hours filming in the heat and I DID NOT want to hike back! So, Lyft for $15 was our option!, lol) For a good hiking shoe, I bought running shoes from Big Island Running Company that have a solid waffle sole for the rocks/lava/kaiwe thorns you find on trails on the island. www.bigislandrunningcompany.com

Great video, very enjoyable, thank you. How long was the hike from Beach 69 to Mauna Kea Resort? And, if I am feeling it in the legs and want a shorter walk, how long would you say it is from Beach 69 to Hapuna Beach (hours and miles??) Cheers
