I like how they changed zero models in this game. Nothing changed except for new levels and characters. Nintendo was just like, “you loved the first game, SO WE’LL DO IT AGAIN BUT BETTER” and they did. And they did.
Some friends of mine were having a square dance and as a joke I suggested the music for this galaxy. The host (also a Mario fan) wanted to, but said he would not play it at the first one, so people would come again. On the night of the square dance, after we learned the basic moves and danced to 2 tunes, he loaded this one and I knew right from the first timbale/rim snare shots what he was playing.
BidaMuk i used to play this game in Wii U but my game pads charger stop working and its difficult to find an original Nintendo charger ;-; gues i wont play SMG anymore :(
The game takes a brief moment to load the animation and the music the moment you grab a Power Star. During these 4-6 frames, there is a delay before the music plays, though the sound effect for collecting the Star goes off first. With Star #2, I wondered what would happen if I cut it shot a little bit.
I want to applaud you for being a fantastic acrobat. You control Mario well with your advanced jumps that speed up the process and avoid dangerous obstancles at the same time. Well done! We do not have enough good players like you and I. Thank you for uploading these videos as well. It helped remind me on a lot of the positive and negative aspects of this amazing sequel. The negatives, if anyone is wondering...the game's too easy.
Hey thanks. Despite a game being easy, I like to think that you still can have fun with it. And really, it kinda is until you go for the Green Stars... well IF you go for the Green Stars.
Saestrol I am 100% with you. The game may be easy, but there was enjoyment for its near perfectionist controls. I think that is why it was easy. The controls were perfect. I beat the game 100%, so YES. There are some sections of levels in the green stars that are very difficult. We can agree upon that.
Most people consider this game to be quite challenging actually. In fact that’s one of the reasons people praise it. It may be easy to people who are good at mario but it keeps you on your toes more than the other games in my experience.
@@callinater6133 After many years of reflecting on this game, I have come to the conclusion that its difficulty is not a flaw at all. So I now agree more with you and the uploader more than ever. The real flaw of this game is its lack of open game design and limited gameplay. Odyssey surpassed Galaxy 2 for those 2 reasons.
@@mazardeus conversely, I felt that odyssey lacked too much platforming for me to prefer it on revisits. And I felt the difficulty was especially low most of the time. Not having open ended design is not a flaw - it’s a purposeful design decision. I really don’t like this negative stigma attached to the word linear. Linear games have aspects over their sandbox counterparts such as having more focused and cleaner level design. One of odyssey’s biggest strengths though is mario’s move set for sure. I do like how great mario is to control. But I still feel like the game’s post game becomes unbearable - more so than the green stars. I feel like some of them are nearly impossible to find without a guide. Also some of them simply weren’t fun like the ones involving the dog digging (though it is irresistibly adorable), ground pounding or trace walking. On the other hand I enjoyed getting almost every galaxy 2 star. It really is kind of a shame - mario has such an incredible moveset in odyssey but it almost never gets used to its fullest by the level design due to the basic platforming... I guess i just prefer focused level design over a dynamic sandbox kinda design.
Hmmm... you know, I really liked the Slimy Springs Galaxy. It's the odd setting and eerie, but light music that got it for me. It's one of the few original galaxies that weren't based on a theme present in the first game... Or I could be wrong about that, but I always did like it.
What also helps is the beautiful sunset at the end. After a level of linear puzzling, dodging and swimming, to be greeted with the warm sunshine is just so serene and calming.

I hate the new 3D Mario games.
As someone who never played any Mario game: that music is pure fire

Nintendo has a history of doing that, they literally did it with tears of the kingdom from breath of the wild
I watched this let's play when I was a kid which motivated me to buy a Wii and look where I am now, having played over 200 nintendo games

The rainbow music notes play Super Mario World Overworld Theme.
The original game's best theme: Gusty Garden
The sequel's best theme: Puzzle Plank
I can still hear Mark scream "B*tch, I'm fabulous!"
