Brampton: Cars stuck in snow Thursday morning winter blizzard 2-23-2023

Footage filmed this morning at midnight Thursday February 23rd showing heavy snowfall near the intersection of Airport Road and Queen Street where cars were stuck in the snow. Major accumulations have stranded several motorists across the Greater Toronto Area and cleanup is underway. On top of that, drizzles, ice pellets, sleet and freezing rain are reported right now in the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

When toronto had that massive storm where cars, busses, and trucks were stuck for days. I was helping a guy push his car out for 20 mins. Digging and pushing when he told me he had all seasons on, I said "oh fuck that " and walked off. Snow tires is always reliable. Don't be cheap in winter

Winters should 💯 be mandatory in Ontario. It’s insane to me people drive without them, not only for ice . But extremely cold temperatures as well, all season tires are a considerably harder compound.

What a nice mess we all woke up to this morning. You can't walk on the sidewalks where I am as the plows put all the snow on them. It takes a few days for the city to clean up whenever we get a snow storm. Have a great day my friend, and stay safe out there.❤️🙂⚘️.

Snow Tires... it works bitches. A lot of Bramptonians think All Season Tires are suppose to work in these conditions. Pro tip: it's not about the acceleration, it's the braking that'll fuck you.

If you only want one set of tires, get All Weather, not all season. Yokohama and Nokian, amongst others, make very capable all weather, winter rated tires that wear the snowflake on the mountain badge of performance.

SNOW TIRES!!! All season tires are NOT FOR THE WINTER. They should be marketed as 3 season, honestly. Sure, you can "get away with it" most of the time. When actual winter hits, you're screwed. Newer tires too. ALL FOUR. Don't cheap out on your damn tires and brakes. It's only your life, right? It's not just the tread, it's the compound. Below 7 celcius, all season tires begin to get hard and lose grip. It's part of owning a car here. 2 sets of tires. Period. Be safe, folks.

I was driving through that. It was easy with two provisos: First, WINTER TIRES, FOLKS, and; smooth and steady wins the day. The car I was out and about in was my rear wheel drive 1990 Volvo 240 wagon. I carry a tow rope for pulling people out of dangerous situations. It is quite funny to see a rear wheel drive 4 cylinder wagon from 3 decades ago pulling a newish 4 wheel drive V8 pick-up truck out of a ditch.

Welcome to Toronto where people get stuck in 10cms of snow. I lived there from 2000-07, the shit I saw was unbelievable. This is what happens when people that grew up in a tropical climate come to Canada and attempt to drive.
