Yes . . . and what you hear beyond this is the voice, mind, heart, and soul of the greatest musical genius ever to walk the Earth, Johann Sebastian Bach
I am a clarinetist. I played many of these movements. I love your playing and what you do with each one. They are not easy. Thank you for giving us your playing of these.
thank you very much for sharing :) I was looking for a violin piece by J.S. Bach that was in my head and I found it thanks to your post here. God Bless
Absolutely beautiful!! I really like the fact that you don't play it too fast (like most violinists do), making everything very clear and articulate. It reminded me a lot of Szeryng's recording. Congratulations maestro!
Heartwarming and Heartbreaking the violin that the nostalgic reveries I thought of Jascha Heifitz and discovering Antal Zalali a revelation. Fire in the Soul by Joan Borysenko and Folgers Shakespeare Library Shakespeare Sonnets. Immanuel Kant Critique of pure reason
A very, very deep honest presentation. So beautiful. Performer almost invisible in a humble way. Bach delivered completely musically with no vanity. Tank you! Thank you!
Such mixed feelings with this upload. First I was like "A this is nice, all the Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin" and then during the first performance it slowly began to dawn on me that this is going to take me two hours to get trough the whole thing. Then at the ending I was just in awe by the way mister Zalai shared this beautiful performance in these time we live in. I am so greatful for Bach's music and people like mister Zalai. I truly hold them in the highest regard and view up on them as examples of greatness. I saluut, bravo, bis, bis..
Oh indeed he does. The entire world appreciates Prof. Zalai’s interpretations. He fills the concert hall with indescribable sound, and fills our hearts with boundless joy!
The Melody line is so clear and enables the listener to crystalize the overall effect of the nuance of the piece... takes you back when there was no amplified sound and the true magic of Bach rings out through the instrument in all its Glory.. Marvelous work... one of the best performances of a Bach materpiece.
Nahal Snir and Gan Hashiosha awe inspiring nature preserve the nature conservatory and horticulturist the planning their both landmarks in Israel. Violin evokes tender hearted resonance and both heartwarming and heartbreaking vulnerability. Fire in the Soul Joan Borysenko and Blaise Pascal Mind on fire rekindles fervent belief in the Godhead with meditation and religious poetry.
Thank you for this beautiful collection of sonatas played so well calm virtuosity to evoke a holy spiritual inner echo of experience in the listener in a church of simplicity where God is listening.

Nice Interpretation! I was searching for this one... gonna practice a lot now to not struggle with my fingers! :) ...looks so easy, but it's so much technique... Bravo!
Some of these pieces I've been playing since I was 14. When you work so much on a repertoire, playing, listening, and teaching them for many years, to memorize them is quite automatic.
@@AntalZalai Hi Antal! How much would you say is muscle memory and trusting your hands, vs having a mental image of the page? Or something else? Been a fan for a long time, and great to see so much TH-cam presence now.
I think it's different with every musician. My visual memory is not very good, I don't really think about the image of the pages when I play. So it's not more than 5-10%. Muscle memory, in my opinion, shouldn't be more than 25%. Otherwise you play the fingering and not the music itself. And you can't change fingerings easily, if you have another musical or technical idea. I think, to memorize the musical structure and harmonic frame of the piece is the most important. Even if it's solo violin, like 6 Sonatas and Partitas, if you can improvise or compose a piano accompaniment under the solo violin part, you certainly know the harmonic frame of the piece.
Gracefulness and sweet melodic intonations of the violin your expertise is awe-inspiring like great architecture and archeology of Ralph and Rose Sloenick prehistoric caves and went to Texas AM archeologist department chair.
I am enjoying your emphasis on musical line, gorgeous tone, rhythmic accuracy and impeccable intonation. Best wishes on the successful conclusion of your project!
I Watch this daily as I am working my way through the Bach sonatas and Partitas. I absolutely LOVE your playing! I have large hands and use wrist vibrato and no shoulder rest, so its great to watch for me! I notice your violin seems to be a Lord Wilton Guarneri Copy? if so, who is the maker? I would LOVE to learn in person from you some day
Bach is complex. As to the piano ,Andras Schiff is the rare master. It is worthwhile to master the German language to understand more deeply the wording and their meaning. The Chaconne is the most difficult piece to play. Mendelssohn had the opinion that nobody could ever play it because the technical aspects are impossible to master. Well, Heifetz and Perlman were the rare masters.

He's playing very calm so teaching to us while playing...
Traditional, disciplined and beautiful.
Thank JESUS CHRIST for this music and for this violonist!!!!!!!.......
Some say that JS Bach was the 5th apostle…
Found this 3 years later! incredible
His sonority is so full, warm and clear. It reminds me of oistrakh's playing very much. What a spectacular violinist!
You got that right, that precious touch, just right bow speed weight of bowing.

Bravissimo! I could watch him play so smoothly all day - it's like a meditative exercise! What a treat.
Zamatos ízű, hangú, hegedűje van...csodálatos előadás 😘👍❤
I want to be able to play like this in a church someday for over an hour nonstop with performance level clarity, even if it lacks virtuosity. 😃
It requires the grace of God.. and to start at a very young age
@Artoliva no. You don't need to start as a child. You can be adult and practice with all your heart and it can be done.
Sir J.S.Bach would be delighted to ear such a Good Interpretation of his Masterpiece. Bravo Mr Zalai !

So beautiful! Thank you for posting this. It made my day. ❤️
This is so beautiful. Doing it without a shoulder rest! What fantastic control!

Evocative, Exuberant, Ethereal your violin intonations run the gamut of peak emotional range.
Excellence in every way .
The worst thing in a YT Bach concert are the commercial breaks, if there is sacrilege then it is this
I absolutely agree, Baráti play the same, but now they fit the ads in there too, it is close to being criminal!
Thank you Mr.Zalai for this music so beautiful and incredible performer of Bach. ¡ Great job !!!
