There’s another option for those with discs if these don’t work take your console offline by going to settings, and then network settings. Once there just go back to the Home Screen, and download the game after it’s done go online to update it.
Only about 50 percent of disc games work for me on my series X. Stops downloading at around 85 to 90 percent. Ive tried everything on the ones that don't work. Discs are mint. Very frustrating to spend this kind of money on a console for it to not load half the games correctly.
Sometimes an error occurs where you go to download a game, but a window pops up saying that there’s an update for the game. if you click install update now instead of installing it later it will bug your download for the game. the download stops randomly and the game doesn’t install.

I finally did it however it is super hard for people with disc games to find the game on the store but once you're able to find the game that's a disc on the store it will eventually give you a prompt to "you can play this install" thank you so much for this I really appreciate this I know that this is only from 2 years ago but I don't care thank you so much

There should be a way that as long as the xbox recognises you have a official disc but the disc is not downloading, then allows you the option to just download from xbox store.

When trying to download Diablo 3 disc for 3 hours now. It dlownalds to 56% and then stops. I don’t know what to do. This fix didn’t work for me and I literally bought the fucking console last week. Extremely frustrating after spending 530 bucks on this thing.

Yes! This has happened to me twice! Internal drive once and external drive once. It takes a looong time to download almost a TB of data over a max speed of 18Mbps
Change the location of the new xbox to the same location of the old xbox (the game region store if you downloaded from multiple region you should change the new xbox location for each game)where you have downloaded the game

unfortunately this didn't fix my problem I've now installed the game 9 times and still hasn't finished it'll stop between 90% and 97% everytime even after clearing the queue and restarting the console and it refuses to install the disc but the internet side is finishing

TH-cam tutorials didn't help but idk what got through my brain and i inserted the disc in the console , blocked the disc exit and pressed eject button the disc was inside and couldn't get out and the console took it back in and then it started installing normally and eventually worked.

My problem is that skyrim absolutely refuses to install on my series x, I've tried absolutely everything imaginable and it refuses to go past 69%.... haven't had a single issue with any other game, just skyrim... it was also the first game I attempted to install on the X and thought the console was broke so tested other games and haven't had an issue, only had it with skyrim
Figured out a new way to fix it you just got to uninstall the game from the more app setting I think your Xbox might think the game is still installed so uninstall it from app setting is a full uninstall or it at least workers for me
I tried this, but it doesn't work. I keep on getting the same error. I am trying to install to my external HD. No luck. I can install no problem to the internal hard drive, but not external, I keep on getting the same "installation stopped" sh*t that is really getting under my skin. And if I try to install to the internal Hd and then move to the external, I can move it, no problem, but once I try to start the game it says that the file is damaged and I can't do anything else. Yo it didn't work for me and I'm wondering if you know what is happening with mine. It's Minecraft and the download is 910mb but at one point it turns into 912mb download so something just got added right there and then it'll continue to 95% done then pause and resume to 100% then fail and then it retry's to download but now the download is 86mb and it can only download 85mb then stops again

Solution doesn't work for installing or moving when this error occurs. Transfer or download slows to a crawl until it eventually times out and stops.

I can install no problem to the internal hard drive, but not external, I keep on getting the same "installation stopped" sh*t that is really getting under my skin. And if I try to install to the internal Hd and then move to the external, I can move it, no problem, but once I try to start the game it says that the file is damaged and I can't do anything else.
This stupid stuff is killing me.
EVERY time i try to install cod ww2 it does this, only this game nothing else, and nonr of the solutions fixed it

Didn’t help tbh. My xbox one still says installation stopped despite having so much space available for downloads. Might have to factory reset

Doesn't work for me, I tried everything and nothing works, theirs nothing we can do about it, typical xbox nowadays.

aaaaaaaaand then is random stops downloading and just says installing.... NOTHING GETS FIXED
Yo it didn't work for me and I'm wondering if you know what is happening with mine. It's Minecraft and the download is 910mb but at one point it turns into 912mb download so something just got added right there and then it'll continue to 95% done then pause and resume to 100% then fail and then it retry's to download but now the download is 86mb and it can only download 85mb then stops again
Am I cursed?
I have the disc for forza horizon 4 base game and when i do this i still have to by the game in the store
