“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” John 16:13a
How does the Holy Spirit convict non-Christians?
The Holy Spirit brings awareness to unbelievers of the heaviness of sin.
The Holy Spirit awakens the person convicted of sin.
The Holy Spirit convinces them of their need for Jesus.
How does the Holy Spirit convict Christians?
Conviction:
-Comes from the Holy Spirit
-Leads to repentance
-Offers forgiveness
-Runs to Jesus for grace
-Brings joy and freedom
Condemnation:
-Comes from the enemy
-Leads to self hatred
-Offers guilt
-Runs from God in shame
-Brings more sin and regret
How can the conviction of the Holy Spirit be God's gift to us?
The Holy Spirit will always point us to the truth of Jesus.
