Mein Gott, gerade fällt mir ein, dass es schon wieder ziemlich genau 10 Jahre her sein müsste, dass er gestorben ist... an den Sommer/Herbst 2012 kann ich mich noch gut erinnern. Im August /September interessierte ich mich plötzlich mehr für Scotts Musik und überspielte die Platte, welche meine Mutter in den 80ern gekauft hatte, auf Kassette, um sie ununterbrochen auf dem Schulweg im Bus über meinen Walkman anhören zu können. Die Stimmung passte genau zur Jahreszeit, denn das Wetter war noch lange sehr schön warm und sonnig. Ich hatte damals keine Ahnung von Scott Mc Kenzie, aber einige Monate später erfuhr ich, dass er wohl genau um diese Zeit herum verstorben war, als ich besoners häufig seine Musik anhörte. Seitdem ist der Spätsommer/Frühherbst für mich der klassische Zeitpunkt im Jahr für sein ´67er Album.

Our first family trip with all of us was in San Francisco. My family had lived there before I existed….at least on earth. What a fun time we had. Our dad could only find one room in a Travel Lodge, and all seven of us slept there. I think cots and beds. I guess that was our love-in….family style!!
