Welcome back to the channel where this week we have made our way to Old Fold Manor in the North London area.
A good friend of ours, Nathan Gilpin has just taken over as the Golf Manager at Old Fold Manor and has invited myself, Lester and Jordan (on camera) to play with him at his new place of work.
We will be taking on this Harry Colt designed golf course in 3 man scramble format to see if we can beat the course record.
What Old Fold Manor say:
It was designed by one of the greatest golf course architects of all time - Harry Colt. His design philosophy helped to shape Augusta National, too, so it’s not surprising that Old Fold is famous for its greens.
Colt was also famous for bringing a seaside links feel to inland courses so, you’ll find a few extra challenges here. These are some of the reasons why Old Fold held Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship from 2005-2010.

Greens seem very soft. Dan's footprints are quite prominent.

The arm lock putter has transformed Bernies putting, perhaps he should get some arm lock wedges to transform his chipping? Just a thought!
Quality fellas. Also a really nice gesture giving the dog a ball! Some golfers would have hurled abuse at the dog owner however at the end of the day it’s not a PGA event and manners cost nothing 👏👏

The cameo appearance by OB the dog was pretty funny 😀 and poor Nathan loosing a £5 ProV in the process 😩. There’s a long way to go and -8 is still achievable boys.

I had a crow steal my ball a couple of weeks ago. Walked up the fairway from my drive and it moved the ball around a few metres then picked it up in its mouth and flew off.
Been looking forward to this….. a course I’ve actually played on 👍🏽

If Bernie is off 4 then that makes him the same handicap as a certain Lee Whittaker - unbelievable!!! Can lessons from Dan make me a:4 handicap golfer - of the Lester variety rather than the Whittaker Golf variety. I am really only envious that I don’t have a career in golf - although I was thinking about a volunteer coach; but I suspect I am not good enough and I am too old 😔

3rd green is what is called a "Biarritz" green. The swale in the middle with the higher front and back shelves.

The greens are the courses major protection, its not long but querky and fun to play, very popular after its refurbishment and they spent a fortune on it after a windfall from a landfill company, nice course!! regards
Could be worse....i have rottweilers....1 of mine used to pick a golf ball up and bite it in half and spit it out.....always looked very pleased with himself too....at £3 a ball practising my chipping in the garden could be expensive.

Wow, did the channel course really tire you out that much guys, serious bags under eyes, my guess is drowning sorrows 🤔, not so windy eh? That’s how that lady get’s her competition golf balls😂 🐕. Harry Colt was pretty prolific in his day, he modernised B&B Championship course after Charles Gibson the head pro from RND had designed a 9 hole course, there has been other influences (McKenzie being one) but he was responsible for the blueprint of today’s course. I’ll tune in Lester, even if you don’t get a birdie. I like the look of this course, love the tree lined fairways, makes you focus your tee shots. Tricky dewy greens.
Watching Bernie chip cross handed gives me anxiety… 😂

Loads of dog walkers on my course but I’ve never seen a lost ball because of one of them! 😂 can’t believe the owner couldn’t even get it back off the dog 🤦

Does this golf course allow members of the public and their hounds free range to walk wherever they like. It certainly didn’t look like a public “Rights of Way” path she was using.

In the UK it’s illegal to keep dogs under control and golf courses are public land? Beautiful surroundings however including the uneducated locals.

why is she even walking a dog on a golf course????? surely there is plenty of other places to walk it. nonsense. maybe you should go and practice on her back garden and churn that up. why do people insist on walking on golf courses and getting in the way
It's a public right of way right across 1st and 2nd, down side of 3rd too.
