Very nice! I did this today (but only for dust removal) and everything went according to plan until I accidentally loosened the aperture blade so they fell out of position and now I can't figure out how to take out the actual aperture plate, so I can put them back into position. Do I need to disassembly the lens from the back to be able to do that?
I actually managed to put the diaphragm back together without taking it out. It was a challenge for sure and it took a few tries. You'll need a set of precision tweezers if you ever run into this problem (hopefully not).
I have the same lens. I want to ask you, why my focus ring when it works, it gives me some sound things like fine sand..'creettt crettt'...thats problem same when i use Manual focus n i rotate focusing ring by my finger turn left and right..sound are the same...maybe dust ?
It's wild how many variations I've seen from poking around inside different copies of this lens. Either they changed it over time or there are huge regional manufacturing differences
Congratulations on the video! My lens doesn't give any signal in AF. It works in manual focus, but not in AUTOFOCUS. The camera says that the lens is in MF, even if I change the button to AF, the camera continues to say that it is in MF. In other words, the AF doesn't give any signal. Is there a fix in this case or can I just change the AF motor? I'm from Brazil.
Thank you for sharing! My lens is with this problem. Thank you so mutch!
