I’m glad I can call this man my teacher, mentor and friend 🙏🏻 Training since I’m a kid, but he changed my understanding and my work the last 10 years and still is! Met so many so called „Masters“ but he truly is! Thank you Martin for all you give me and still do 💪🏻 greets from Austria Mike

Funny that just yesterday - i was asked why i do things like i do them in Bjj- Sparring.
    I answered because of Systema.
The person did absolutely not know what to do with this statement.
His first reaction was (knowing systema only off of youtube) : „but i thought systema is shitty“.
Well…i guess that started to change his thinking.

Martin is a true martial arts master. Training with him will change your life and make you a healthier, more effective human. 7 years of personal experience studying with him and it never gets old. I don't know how he keeps making the education fresh and impactful, but that is his genius.

Martin's gentleness was most impressed me the weekend I trained with him locally. I had lost myself in practice with a man older than I and turned to find Martin addressing me. He softly told me that striking this man's head was not allowed. I wasn't even aware that I'd done it. No harm had been done, but my lack of self-awareness was key. the second day of the workshop I practiced alone.. During the shelter-in-place of the last few years I studied with Martin on line four days a week for approx. 40 minutes supplemented by individual consultations as needed. He was fun, helpful, inspiring, and surpassing kind. Hence: Super Magic Martin. I am so grateful to know him and to continue to learn from him even at a distance remotely..

Looking forward to finally training with Martin soon....As a Systema instructor with a lot of experience, I know for a fact I will experience much humility with him. God willing.

Fantastic work, Martin. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to working with you again someday. You’ve helped me look at every martial art I’ve trained in or still train in differently.

Of all the Systema/combat instructors, martin wheeler makes the most sense, because he explains why, the difference in Symmetrical and a asymmetrical approach, a person who has obviously used such skills in a real situation. the talk of nuance and creativity, adaptability, its all here.

I miss training with you.......Hello from Switzerland. That's actually only half speed what his doing, I've seen worst what he can do as far as training goes and with or without weapons involve it was his spoken words were more weight than gold to me. Tell Mr. Waname I said hi too. Safe Journey guys and be kind as always training with each other.

It certainly helps when the attacker " goes " with the defender.....

    • @DanielColageo

Hey "viking" (I say that, hopefully humbly, as another viking), give him a try. Travel to him. Make an effort, and find out for yourself. Before you make such a judgement without truly knowing. Skol

The attacker should only "go with" his Trainingpartner as much as he has to in this type of drill. Avoiding injuries and being trapped completely are issues for the attacking Trainingpartner. Resisting and stiffneing the body would make his further attack impossible since you cant attack without movement/ resisting, let alone adapting or starting a good new attack. The idea behind your statement is worth considering in depth, you might change the way you train your art fundamentally. Respectful with best wishes.
