Trying to spread stone with Kubota SVL 90-2

- Dirt perfect had a couple small jobs next to one another. Spreading stone in a parking lot with the Kubota SVL 90-2 and using the GMC C8500 tandem dump truck to tailgate stone onto a driveway job. Also was able to get some awesome drone footage of a stone barge being offloaded!

Captain Kleeman you did a wonderful job. I have worked for a few construction companies in the past and I have watched certified operators make mistakes it's just how you learn from them and improve on it to do better with the knowledge of what you have learned.
If you have enough material leave some in the bucket it wont move as fast as empty one. Good video.
Oh my gosh what a great to see that barge being unloaded... I'm a crane operator and that was amazing and fun to watch... It ways amazes me that some things are done in apparently inefficient ways and that's one of them... but If it's the only way to get it offloaded... super cool.
Hey man, when your spreading gravel in a parking lot setting with a skid steer, back drag your way to where your pulling out and you won’t leave tracks behind. And with that type of material, if you’ll set the bucket just to where the front half or 3/4 of the cutting edge touches the ground and set the loader to float it will leave a near glass finish. Also when your pushing, set the loader down on the machines frame and use the bucket curl to adjust how thick your spreading. (Works best with a fairly full bucket) but your absolutely right! Seat time is the best when it comes to a skid steer. There are many different ways to make the machine accomplish the same task, it’s whatever works best for you! Lol

Captain Kleeman oh that’s a bummer... if you could use the float it would make a lot of “skid steer” jobs a lot easier! Lol and heck yeah, I don’t mind throwing a couple cents in that might help you out! It’s hard sometimes to explain it effectively written out if you know what I mean! Haha

You might not be the best skid load operator, but I have to say that I think you're fantastic. I have never driven one, so you are an expert in my book. LOL The end product looked good. That is all that matters.

Loved seeing the unloading process after hearing you and Dirt Perfect talk about it in previous videos. Glad they let you fly the drone to get video of it actually happening.
Getting video of the quarry operations would be awesome. Especially if you do any blasting when you’re there.
Wayne Crews it would be awesome to catch a blast with the drone! I may try and get some shots of their river dredge as well if it ever gets close enough to the bank. I only have 500 Meters range on the drone

Cap’n... you far exceeded my first attempt at spreading gravel. When I was done... I grabbed a rake and hid the flaws.
Thanks! You gave me a whole new measure for central tendency... All I had to work with were median, mean and mode... but now that I have access to Kleeman Average... the sky’s the limit!
Loved the dronage! I’m betting that crane operator job is interesting! (For the first half hour, at least!)

William Harris the kleeman law of average is a wonderful measure to use. You’ll find tour success rates at a much higher level using such a metric

Not bad job of spreading considering the frozen chunks, worked 2 summers hauling stone to a crew building new streets in sub division, doing a good job spreading harder than it looks. there are three quarries within 25 miles of where I live.

Not a bad job but I do have one comment. On the parking lot you did, I would guess that is for the Church across the street. Regardless what it's for, I hope you cleaned all the stones you got on the sidewalk. Tripping hazard plus uncomfortable. Otherwise, you the man when the 'man' is otherwise preoccupied. Thanks!

It seems inefficient to unload a barge that way especially towards the end of the load !
mrbakerskatz it’s actually really fast with a good operator. Towards the end they have a loader they put in to help keep everything shuttled in a pile for the clam.

I am a loader operator for a quarry similar to that one and it was cool to see it from the opposite end of the loader. And it's also interesting to hear the different terms for the stone what you called 7s look like what we call 2s here .

Andy Moss that’s a good question. At least three retail yards. And I think they have 4 river quarries and a river dredge. But I’m not 100% on that.

Chris S. Well now I feel silly. I believe it is 22’ with 4’ fixed front...but....I wouldn’t make a heavy bet on that. I need to measure to double Check sometime. It’s a handy trailer
