How do you find zippo lighter fluid do on the Bandai plastic, when compare to Tamiya X-20 enamel thinner?
I had one of my MG Gunpla kit ruined because of it. And that's after clear coated too!
Good job the other video of the perfect grade build had me going nuts the guy did a bad job with the paint.
Looks like you applied the wash and airbrushed right onto the plastic-no primer or base coat paint? I’d really like to know because it looks great and not having to prime and paint would save a ton of time.
Razum Tazum This time around I didn't use any primer on the whole. Mainly because I was already on a tight budget and I had to use what I had.
Well it looks fantastic. I may give that a try and just use a dull Cote or something afterwards to preserve the wash. Thanks for the video!

I noticed in the 3rd video that you mixed acrylic paint with enamel thinner. Is there a reason you did that on purpose? Sincerely curious. I'm currently building the same kit, and that's the one thing on your video that isn't crystal clear. Thanks for posting!
Ryan Holt The purpose of using a lacquer thinner in combination with the acrylic black is too thin the paint to the point where he can be used for the airbrush. So there's two core things that can be really really helpful with using this method. One if you make a mistake and you want to start all over you can simply use Windex to wipe the Slate clean. Where is if you use another method the paint stays on there permanently.
I'm so thankful that you replied. I'm just to the point of doing my undershading, and I had purchased Tamiya Acrylic Paint Thinner to use with flat black acrylic through my airbrush. Would you suggest doing that for the undershading, and use (what sounds like a more forgiving) mixture of lacquer and acrylic for the damage points and exhaust marks? Your vids really helped me get a good starting point with this intimidating model. Much appreciated, and Sub'd.
