I find it interesting how on the Sing Off, the producers etc. only wanted Austin to be the lead singer on all songs and resisted Rob taking the lead on Colder Weather, but since they are revisiting the Sing Off songs Rob is getting a lot more exposure as the lead singer. I thought this when they did the End of the Road by Boyz 2 Men and Rob just killed the lead on that. Shaun had carried on so much over Austin's voice on the show. They are all such fantastic and talented singers you can't single out any one of them and say the are the best. Together they are the best and I love how they support and encourage one another.
I think the producers wanted it partly because back then Austin was the one who brought the star quality, and not just because of the voices, but they've all stepped into it since.
As it's obvious to all Home Fries, the guys have an uncanny ability for choosing who sings what. I can't think of one of their songs where I thought some other in the group should have taken the lead. Each of them are perfect in their differences. I did not like the way the Sing Off producers tried to get HF to have a "lead" singer. It's their strength that they don't.
Dennis, your reaction to when Tim joined in with Rob and Austin in front and dropped the note was epic! I just noticed this time that they took the glasses off and still see in color! It was a change up, but I love it! Great reaction! Fantastic redo, and the full length is amazing!

And hey, we don't really need to talk about the background vocals, harmony, bass and beatboxing because they are, as always, so incredibly good. Yes, again the biggest compliments to Home Free. just my opinion: I think the Glasses are a metaphor for how HF Music can shift your perspective making everything look and feel better. With life being so serious and bad things on the news all the time it can be so easy to believe there isn't a lot that's good anymore, it's easy to fall into a dark place. I really like how HF can just help shift the perspective and make you feel so much better and hopeful.

Another fun remake of this song. Rob & Austin were great as the leads & of course the other guys added their special touches in the background. The guys all had such funny grumpy faces, especially Tim. Like how it started in black & white & then shifted to color when they put on the glasses. I noticed they had the same girl & guy who were the fire dancers in "Playing With Fire" in the background as extras.

Austin Was Sick when the sang this on SingOff had flu or throat ..I thing he mentioned it when Chris Rupp did the videos of History of Home Free Creation to Current if ypu haven't seen it
The beginning was just so weird with the guys being so "not positive", because they are the poster boys for positivity and joyful fun. The video was clever and cute and of course they sounded amazing, as usual. Rob's lead on this was awesome. Both versions were great, but the Sing Off one sounded rushed and "frantic", (I'm sure because of the time constrains for the show). This version sounded more wistful and romantic. Just as a side note, Rob has the most beautiful limpid eyes. When he's wearing his glasses, it's hard to notice. Great reaction.

I think they switched up the key in the beginning to fit Rob's range better, but that's my take. I haven't gone back to compare side by side. ASIDE: We should all be looking at the world through rosy-tinted glasses, right? Maybe the world would be better that way. That's the message here, imo.
