Once in a while...true Beatle fans have to somehow give thanks to those "music gods" for giving us this gift of "Beatles". How could so much great music...come from one band...in a short 7 tears? It has to be a miracle.
McCartney began by writing the bulk of the music and words of this great song very dramatically telling the story of a young woman leaving the home of her parents. He played it for Lennon, and then Lennon added in a little more of the instrumentation we hear as well as the lyrics telling us the thoughts of the parents. We can hear both Beatles singing the haunting lyrics each wrote in this beautiful song on "She's Leaving Home" on The Beatles masterpiece, "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album -cd/iTunes, etc. McCartney and Lennon. The two greatest songwriters of the 20th century
This is a good version with modern instruments: * Acoustic Guitar instead of harp * Synth Strings * Drummer sings along * Pau plays along occasionally on his Höfner bass.
when I first heard this live version of this song I was amazed and it made me happy and paul mccartney always makes me very happy when he performs on stage
I dont care what anyone says. Paul is still amazing. He is like 60 years old in this clip. More people that age (especially those who have smoked) can even carry a tune anymore, much less go that high....Paul is, and always will be, the best!
I saw him for the first time in my life on this tour I didn't think he would ever do that song live outstanding pure genius I felt like I came out of A dream after that concert
I had been a fan for 20 years (since 1982 age 10) and promised if Paul ever was in concert near by I would go. This was my first concert and have been two more times since this concert footage. I just love his music and will always be my number one favorite.
I saw Paul McCartney on Thurdsay, he was walking in Berkeley square and I spoke to him, he was really nice, but wouldn't give me an autograph as he does't give them in the street, I am in total shock even now, that he spoke to me, me a nobody, what a memory I have.
He really is incredible and to think he will be 66 this year. I hope people realize that he was definitely equal to John Lennon in the genius department. How the stars aligned for those two greats to meet up in 1957 seems like an act of God.
Sorry guys but Paul doesn't need a lot of backup. He has an amazing voice and this was absolutely beautiful to listen too. I love when I can actually hear him sing. This is one of the best versions of this song. Great job, Sir Paul ( the real and only one by the way) can listen to him all day,,, every day. PLease stay engaged and not marry again. love you
abe laboriel jr. (the badass drummer) truly can sing all the high stuff the macca makes. what a great rendition. i'm stoked i got to see him in coachella. amazing!
I saw Paul sing this in Milwaukee which was the first stop of this concert, He said that it was the very first time he ever sang this live. This video doesn't do justice to the live experience. It was awesome!!
it is just so moving to see paul still out there singing these great songs... and these new guys that are playing with him now are so freaking LUCKY!!! and they're doing such a good job.
Sting!! although he's about 10 years younger. But when I saw The Police at MSG on Halloween night 2007, I was blown away. Sting's voice sounded EXACTLY THE SAME as it did nearly 30 years ago! I swear he coud re-record the entire Police catalog and you'd never know.
Agreed with those about this song not being the same without John's unique backing vocals. I happened to catch this song over my car radio during some Beatles music retrospective show or something. I admit never really listening to it before, but John's great voice really gave me chills. I think Paul based this song on a news article he read about a little British girl gone missing, which concerned and inspired him.
am supprised that sir paul stil has the will to go it alone id break down cry like a baby sining with out my pals ... but it wonderfull to see him brining back load of memories ty sir paul
I saw Paul twice in '02 (San Jose, Ca.) and at one of the shows he played "She's Leaving Home". I was completely blown away as I would never have guessed he would play this gorgeous tune. It was a "beautiful experience". You would have had to been there to appreciate it. Another "masterpiece".
Saw this tour ten years ago when he came to St.Louis awesome beyound words and yes he did play this song. Can not believe I get to see him agin in November!
I love the beautiful sounds of the cord instruments and harmony of voices of Paul and John of the original version. But this is also beautifully executed - in a different way. Wish I could have listened it there in LA
I love he doesn't even play the bass around his neck. PID'ers, nobody but McCartney himself could do this song. No matter how you try to explain it, only he can do this song with the same love and awesomeness after 35 years (dated from video).
Well in 2002 in New Orleans I paid $125. I went to two Chaos and Creations in the Backyard concerts. Got lucky on ebay and won a ticket for $120, floor seat inside isle 20 rows back.. It was the best night ever. So on ave. I have paid $125 for all three wonderful concerts.
Beautiful. And he's Paul McCartney so as far as I'm concerned he can do what the hell he likes. And yeah, he's getting older but aren't we all. He's still in bloody good nick for his age.
I see "she" as a metaphor for the Beatles... She, the beatles left their home of Liverpool, and Europe, to come to the U.S. and they basically existed across the universe... I'm 13 and I wish I could meet one of the two, or possibly a spouse of one. I've read biographies, articles, newspaper/magazine stories about all these guys, and their life-stories, 2 of which have ended, are amazing.....
Underrated? Is there such a thing as an underrated Beatles song? If there is, this ain' one of em, that's for sure. I read somewhere long ago that the song actually is an attack or somewhat of a put down on the daughter for the way she left the parents. It said the final part says "fun is the one thing that money can't buy" and that in those days, "a man from the motor trade" ie...used car salesman was kind of looked down upon. There were other subtle comments in the song, but I don't recall what they were. But thee are many a fan on here that know far more Beatles trivia than me, so maybe they''ll confirm or set me straight on the facts. Until then, I hope everyone hs a wonderful day!
I always loved the nod to 'Mars' by Holst The Planets in the strings arrangement at 1:55 (which btw the keyboardist flubs the rhythm of in this performance). 😉

Although I agree with the last statement, I feel George Harrison should also be included in the list of the greatest composers.
This is a good version with modern instruments:
* Acoustic Guitar instead of harp
* Synth Strings
* Drummer sings along
* Pau plays along occasionally on his Höfner bass.
Paul has such a beautiful voice ... never changed in over 30 years. One of the best Singers in my opinion.
when I first heard this live version of this song I was amazed and it made me happy and paul mccartney always makes me very happy when he performs on stage
I dont care what anyone says. Paul is still amazing. He is like 60 years old in this clip. More people that age (especially those who have smoked) can even carry a tune anymore, much less go that high....Paul is, and always will be, the best!
A priceless and beautiful live performance of one of Paul's best creations. 23 people did not like this .... ? That's ridiculous.
I saw Paul twice in 2002 and he surprised everyone by performing this classic tune. It's amazing he was in his 20's when he wrote this beautiful song.
I saw him for the first time in my life on this tour I didn't think he would ever do that song live outstanding pure genius I felt like I came out of A dream after that concert
this song is beautiful. and paul still sounds amazing in this video
This song is a masterpiece

one of the few singers who can STILL hit the high notes 40 years down the road, most of em transpose their songs down a step or 2
I saw Paul McCartney on Thurdsay, he was walking in Berkeley square and I spoke to him, he was really nice, but wouldn't give me an autograph as he does't give them in the street, I am in total shock even now, that he spoke to me, me a nobody, what a memory I have.

We studied these lyrics for our English exams in 1975.
I am now officially old.
Another great song though....of many.

Damn. This is singer-songwriter craft at it's distilled best. Works in any context or era.
abe laboriel jr. (the badass drummer) truly can sing all the high stuff the macca makes. what a great rendition. i'm stoked i got to see him in coachella. amazing!
Love to hear him do a solo acoustic take. The studio production is a classic, but the song is so strong it stands up fantasically stripped down.
I saw Paul sing this in Milwaukee which was the first stop of this concert, He said that it was the very first time he ever sang this live. This video doesn't do justice to the live experience. It was awesome!!
shocked when Paul sang this- I was there 2nd row loved it!!

My bother's group, "The White Album Ensemble", performs this with the Santa Cruz Symphony and they have a real string section and it sounds amazing!
This song is of the best ever, perhaps the best beatle song...BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I'm actually crying. This is one of my favourite songs and it breaks my heaart that the Beatles are long gone and I'm only 17
FABULOUS!!!!! This is the first time I’ve heard/seen “She’s Leaving Home” live! Great arrangement this. Paul would be proud!!! 😏😉
I love this guy! This is magic
am supprised that sir paul stil has the will to go it alone id break down cry like a baby sining with out my pals ... but it wonderfull to see him brining back load of memories ty sir paul
Still a great song 40 years on.

Excellent! Loved it. He hadnt lost anything and still feels it as if he was singing it for the first time!
OMG! He doesn't sound a day older than '67!
I love this song so much, it's one of the best Beatlessongs =]
Peace!
I love the beautiful sounds of the cord instruments and harmony of voices of Paul and John of the original version. But this is also beautifully executed - in a different way. Wish I could have listened it there in LA
sends shivers down my spine..

Musical Artistry at it's best! Thank you Paul!
A masterpiece, their finest song as far as I'm concerned. Truly prodigious musical skill. One of the best songs ever written, definitely. Cheers!
One word only : AWESOME !!!!!!!
one of the best and most touching of all time...more people should hear this! especially the original record...can't be repeated as is anymore.
i love when he's got his little boy hair cut.
one of his best songs
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! AWESOME song. Thank you SIR PAUL!!! LOVE U FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER! ;-)
every single time I hear this song I cry...
including right now.
Paul and the rest of the band did an amazing job recreating the original version as close as they did. Ditto for Eleanor Rigby.
paul you still makes me cry with this song
This is definitely a "headphones " type song. All the underlying musical stuff going on is just mindblowing.
I saw the show in Antwerp... really amazing, I shivered when He remembered the Beatles by posting photo's of them on the big screen behind him.
I love he doesn't even play the bass around his neck. PID'ers, nobody but McCartney himself could do this song. No matter how you try to explain it, only he can do this song with the same love and awesomeness after 35 years (dated from video).
one of the best songs of the beatles....so sad and wonderful....paul's a genius....
evanrkg, I don't think I;ve ever read anyone say this better. You nailed it musically and historically too! Thanks!

Stg.Peppers after 45 tears still being the best album ever!
54 now!
beautifully worded
thank you
he's using the word 'god' to connotate the inexplicable beauty and creativity of their music that is practically divine.
I think If I were there I would have cried ..... I think I'd cry If I saw Paul ...
Paul mccartney is my favorite guy . 💐 💐 😊💖❤💟💞💝💘
Prophetic and share genius this composition
UNBELIEVABLE! He sounds brilliant! Perfect.

Beautiful. And he's Paul McCartney so as far as I'm concerned he can do what the hell he likes. And yeah, he's getting older but aren't we all. He's still in bloody good nick for his age.
Flippin unreal. One of my fav beatles song.
Wonderful. I agree that this is a quite underrated Beatles tune.
i love pauls hand motions. =P
I see "she" as a metaphor for the Beatles... She, the beatles left their home of Liverpool, and Europe, to come to the U.S. and they basically existed across the universe... Gotta give it up to Paul....Though John will always remain my preference out of the two, Paul had just as much talent.
i love them all the same.
to me you needed all of them
for the great music.
I love this song...
We luv ya Paul! You're a genius' genius!
Such an underrated song. Paul sounds amazing still !

The best ever. I love Sgt. Pepper forever. Thanke
One of greatest song of Beatles. Amazing Lyrics..
I always loved the nod to 'Mars' by Holst The Planets in the strings arrangement at 1:55 (which btw the keyboardist flubs the rhythm of in this performance). 😉

I love his delicate phrasing
He's the best drummer ever ,and sings Falsetto just fine.
Exceleente!
Beautifully done!
This is the most melodical song there"s ever been. It"s even better than Bohemian Rapsody. She"s Leaving Home is the most beautiful song in the world.
how cool is that: one of the guitarists has a peace sign on his hand!
