- The reason for the drums sounding "off" is slap back/delay (my buddy tells me). The band has in-ear monitors so they're synched with the main sound, but since Adrian (drummer) is closer than the speakers, you hear him first.

Oh DAMN! you had the bird's eye! I genuinely was wondering what it looked like for people right next to the platform - didn't know if they were covered or not because 90% of the crowd thought they started on the main stage.

It's because the drums are so close.
Why do the drums sound so off?
Because they're so close. It makes the drums sound louder than everything else, almost like there's a slight lag.
