It's great how John welcomed the Veterans back home, even encouraging them "to drop it," if only it had been that ez. It never ended. My Dad spent 13 months in the jungles of Vietnam and Cambodia. Couldn’t have asked for a better father, but he’s always been tormented. Violent temper outside his family, night terrors to this day. My husband went to Iraq 07 and 12, he died of combat injuries at 34 years old. I deployed to a combat zone too. We are still over there and 25 a day die here, at their own hand. Vietnam vets are the majority of that 25. I heard JF say “you got the shaft but let all that crap go.” It’s impossible when there’s still no help. The military uses you then throws you away when you break.
@@amandanegrete1306 Thanks for sharing. My heart goes to you and your family. I don't know what to say to be honest. Unfortunately, as Fortunate Son alludes to there are no winners in war except for maybe the connected wealthy who profit from the sacrifice of others and their dirty deals. I sincerely hope your father, you and all the vets get more assistance and funding. It is a war crime in itself that the US government spends hundreds of billions on military and they throw pennies into counselling and mental health support to all the men and women who sacrificed their innocence and lives in the belief they are serving their country for what they are told is a good cause.
I first laid eyes on CCR at Woodstock 69 as a young girl John is one in a million the real deal...still rock in and out there doing what he does best I LOVE U @johnfogerty💖🎸
Here i am, 61 & the physical pain is keeping me awake but TH-cam is putting all this great music in my play. The music takes me back & you know, the pain that's there 24/7 kinda fades away for a few minutes. Loved CCR & Dan Fogerty. One if the best.
9:51 - He's a massive... I watched this live and when he said this, comparing his sheltered life and issues caused by him 100%, to the vets... anything I type of how I really feel will get this comment filtered.
Love me some CCR Always and forever. My dad was in Viet Nam and my youngest brother was born in July 1967 while he was there. he was the 6th and last child. My dad survived the war and is still alive at 92 yrs old. What an era to be raised in. We sure have been thorugh many changes since then. Some good some not so much. Thanks to music like this and to people like John Fogerty that provided all the memories that come with their music.
I watched this live on TV (it was televised live). Congratulations John for getting back the rights to your songs, and thank you for making this exception for Vietnam vets!
I wasn't born in the 70s or anywhere near it, I was born in 05 and the first CCR song I heard was Born on the Bayou, then Fortunate Son just took it away with me, I was like "woah, these guys are really good", so I heard/bought Chronicle and I still love CCR to this day, i'm 14
Johns bait and switch at the start is masterful. Looking unenthused and playing the start of 'old man down the road' only to end it abruptly and launch into 'born on the bayou' whilst strutting across the stage. Truly a great rock n roll moment.
You would have thought that John just walked out of the bayous of Louisiana, But No, He said that he has Never been to the south. He sure was Channeling it! Amazing!
Heartfelt memories of this music. Makes tears in my eyes remembering hearing CCR on AFVN radio while sitting around the hooch at night when in from the field. The Mekong Delta never left my mind, only my body came home. It hurts to listen but this music reminds me of the soldiers that helped me survive. I love them and thanks CCR for placing them back into my memory.
My dad got me hooked on CCR/ John Fogerty at a young age & those times are still some of my best memories as a kid, driving out to go fishing all around Alaska, blaring CCR, his solo albums, etc. In his 70's I FINALLY got to repay him (on some level, ha!) for gifting me such amazing music & memories & got him, my mom, my wife & I tickets to see him live in Bismarck ND, John Fogerty, ALSO in his 70's I believe just ROCKED THE HOUSE for hours! Outstanding singer, songwriter, guitarist & performer. Hats off. Yet another amazing memory to keep with me. 👍
Man I don't know about you all but I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to be around this magical music. Thanks John for the amazing music, your talents and for the artistry and character you have shown us.
Having spent a year in Viet Nam it wasn't unusual to hear your tunes coming out of the hotches. Would always bring a smile to my soul. Still works my friend. Be safe and thanks for being there.
I celebrate you made it home! It was hell, & I pray your head isn't still in the jungle like my friend's is. Although I was 100% against the war,, my gratitude is boundless, never ending. Veterans & active are in my prayers every day. i🙏 ❤️ ✌️ 🙏
Love this look how young John is, my mother told me when I turned 30 that the years was going to fly by & boy did they. Anyway love John & his music just reminds me when I was young....1-3-23

I loved CCR back in the day and after watching this, I still do! These songs bring back memories of the best time in my life. I didn't know it then, but I know it now.
Was in the US Navy from 1965 to 1969……..that summer of ‘69…..”Down on the Corner” is burnt in this memory bank where I was. ‘bout 1am in the morning with a beautiful girl parked in the middle of an old local air strip, feelin’ free and feelin’ great! Thanks for that!

A very special moment in time for John - and the Veterans. Celebrating John's songs that were part of the timeline of the Vietnam War.. AND John's personal war with the music business.
I go for years these days without hearing CCR. But as soon as I hear the first few notes of any of these songs I stop what I’m doing and I get goose bumps up my spine!!!
Songs 1:59 - Born On The Bayou 6:37 - Down On The Corner 10:55 - Who´ll Stop The Rain 13:41 - Up Around The Bend 17:06 - Midnight Special 21:06 - Bad Moon Rising 24:53 - Fortunate Son 28:35 - Proud Mary
I think those two bands (CCR and Three Dog Night) cranked out the most Top 10 hits in a short period of time than any act other than The Beatles and Elvis. Correct?
I fell in love with this man and his band when I first heard that guitar sound in 'Suzy Q'. Still in love. My mama, bless her, must've loved it, too, bc soon after, on my birthday, she gave me a cassette player, and CCR's new cassette album. My daddy, bless him, loved the sound, too, and bought me their 2nd album on cassette. I have all of CCR's and John's albums, and they're just as great now as they were then. Rock on, John!
I first laid eyes on CCR at Woodstock 69 as a young girl
John is one in a million the real deal...still rock in and out there doing what he does best I LOVE U @johnfogerty💖🎸
Hello Lisa... How are you doing?
❤
Here i am, 61 & the physical pain is keeping me awake but TH-cam is putting all this great music in my play. The music takes me back & you know, the pain that's there 24/7 kinda fades away for a few minutes. Loved CCR & Dan Fogerty. One if the best.
Fogerty is a National Treasure
for real.....
9:51 - He's a massive... I watched this live and when he said this, comparing his sheltered life and issues caused by him 100%, to the vets... anything I type of how I really feel will get this comment filtered.
John Fogerty is true rock. So much meaning in his songs. Can't wait to see him this Saturday at WolfTrap!
Ooooh, lucky you!
THIS IS TOO GREAT JOHN F. IS ALMOST LIKE A DREAM FROM THE PAST. TRUTH IN SONG.....WOW
CCR is my Favorite Song of all time never fade...let,s ROCK n ROLL..
Brings me back to the 60’s thinking of my 3 brothers playing these songs. Makes me miss them even more than words can say💔💔💔
Our generation was the greatest ever , born in the 40s, best cars , best music, best drugs... SEX- DRUGS & ROCK-N -ROLL..WE HAD IT ALL..
Then you blew it
I wasn't born in the 70s or anywhere near it, I was born in 05 and the first CCR song I heard was Born on the Bayou, then Fortunate Son just took it away with me, I was like "woah, these guys are really good", so I heard/bought Chronicle and I still love CCR to this day, i'm 14
Good music doesn't wear out.
😚😚💋😻😻😀😀
Tehl, you will find some of the best music and lyrics are from the 60's. It has been lost many times but worth taking a listen.
Seems like you can recognize great music, so you will be 89 years old and still listen to Chronicle and other masterpieces!
Man you gotta here more the chronicle it's good but it don't have all the killer tunes on it and it don't have his solo stuff on it
Keep on rockin and Rollin
Johns bait and switch at the start is masterful. Looking unenthused and playing the start of 'old man down the road' only to end it abruptly and launch into 'born on the bayou' whilst strutting across the stage. Truly a great rock n roll moment.
Sonopiudi yo anni che ascolto la sua musica e le sue canzoni ,meraviglioso
You would have thought that John just walked out of the bayous of Louisiana, But No, He said that he has Never been to the south. He sure was Channeling it! Amazing!
One of the greatest, if not the greatest working mans singer ever! We love you John

I saw Fogerty during his Blue Moon Swamp tour. He played EVERYTHING for 2 and a half hours. Great!!
Seen him on that same tour at the OAKDALE THEATER IN Connecticut. Blue Moon Swamp was Album of the Year in 1997.

Para sempre john 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏
KEEP THOSE MEMORYS. THE KEYS TO YOUR MYSTERYS
That voice!
Thank you for being there and your service, my brother!
Ahsome
I'm glad you made it back home safely and thank you.
I celebrate you made it home! It was hell, & I pray your head isn't still in the jungle like my friend's is. Although I was 100% against the war,, my gratitude is boundless, never ending. Veterans & active are in my prayers every day. i🙏 ❤️ ✌️ 🙏
My other half is a Viet Nam Vet and I thank you for your service. I appreciate you!!!!!
Love this look how young John is, my mother told me when I turned 30 that the years was going to fly by & boy did they. Anyway love John & his music just reminds me when I was young....1-3-23
John at his best at the top of his game . One of the true great voices .
Laurie Dooker, You summed it all up ***
I grew up in the 70s and this was the best group around. John Forgerty has so much talent and I'm so happy he came and entered our lives again.
🙆🙆
The greatest ever
I loved CCR back in the day and after watching this, I still do! These songs bring back memories of the best time in my life. I didn't know it then, but I know it now.

Born in 69.This is some of the first music I heard and it taught me something about the world.

CCR and Three Dog Night are two of the greatest bands to ever live from the 60's. Rock on John!!!
I think those two bands (CCR and Three Dog Night) cranked out the most Top 10 hits in a short period of time than any act other than The Beatles and Elvis. Correct?
@@AlbertEinsteinSpock I would say you're right. They were two of my favorites back on the day.
Thanx so so so much for all the years of great pleasure and memories!
(edit bc of fat-finger misspell)
His premonition tourr was fanntastic !!!
Hail to the greatest of the band. Glad he decided to return and put it all behind. Many blessings John and much more success.
