He is a very very capable drummer and he has also done ALOT of backing vocals while playing drums, so i am not surprised he pulled this off so smoothly.
I saw everyone complaining about the falsetto at the end... While I do agree that it doesn't fit the song, I think this is called "The Voice" and he was trying to show that he could hit more than just one note.
I beg to differ... Yorke's voice has a different timbre and subtlety, but this guy carries the song more powerfully than him. This is by far the best rendering of Pyramid Song ever!
@@leonne07 you must be so different than me, I think if we would walk past each other we wouldn't see each other or be able to touch each other, because you are on a different dimension, a different plane of existence, your brain is wired so differently, your ears are so unlike mine that communication between us would be impossible I don't know how and why youtube created this channel of communication between us, or if you can even read what im typing, but this kind of distortion in reality is mindblowing
Wow...I love Radiohead so much, and when I hear covers I usually can't get into them... However this was so beautiful, and his darling Norwegian accent in it... beautiful.
This is my favorite Radiohead song ever. He did a beautiful job....I love it. He reminds me of that R.E.M. dude....shit, his name escapes me at the moment.....
@@grouchobono4500 That's true, but it hit me, his name is Michael Stipe. Only took a random reply from something I posted 5 years ago to get me to remember.
Looking at it, the song from its plain view is really simple yet ethereal in lyrics and arrangement, kudos to Radiohead for that. I think the song itself is already good, but it depends on the interpreter how he will give life to it. This man made it alive and he effectively told the story by using dynamics in every line of the song as if every line has varying gravity of meaning. I can feel his nerves but it seemed effortless. That alone is good enough. People might be turned off by the falsetto but IMO it's really outstanding since that line he sang, he really convinced me that there is REALLY nothing to fear. It was believable story-telling to me.
Exelente, minha música preferida do Radiohead.
That falsetto ruined your day huh? God forbid someone tries to add something cheerful to Radiohead's music, when it's being used on a game show predominantly meant for kids and teens....? Radiohead fans are so fucking miserable, if only the music was a little more depressing so you would actually off yourselves
You gotta have some serious guts to choose this song of all songs to cover. Pyramid Song is an absolute masterpiece and not to be approached lightly. Difficult on so many levels.
Trodde nesten ikke øynene og ørene mine da jeg leste navnet på låta/hørte introen...Meget dristig låtvalg, men det funka som bare det! Veldig spent på fortsettelsen!
@hardcore7848 Ha ha, I thought you must have either butchered the spelling of a mystery English word or just invented your own. Turns out "coloratura" is a legit musical term that I'd never heard of, well played.
Even before watching the video I am giving this guy a compliment for having the balls to sing this incredibly difficult song.
I agree, the off tempo beat can throw off a lot of people, the fact he pulled it off quite smoothly is definitely something applause worthy.
Azure Pai it is actually pretty asy song
Azure Pai me too! I try so hard and I can't even SING it in time, much less play piano and sing it in the same time.
He is a very very capable drummer and he has also done ALOT of backing vocals while playing drums, so i am not surprised he pulled this off so smoothly.
His percussion background definitely benefited him here. This time signature is quite counterintuitive.
Never thought a song from Amnesiac would make it onto The Voice lmao.
Amnesiac is super underrated, I adore that record
Smoore exactly !
Jacob Drenick imagine dollars and cents on the voice lmao
Me too
Can’t wait to hear someone cover Hunting Bears at some point
lol that one guy pressed it too quick, Radiohead fans alert
Shadow47 he's a very good musician himself. you should check him out
name?
Akash Agrahari Sondre Lerche
Nah, I he just new it isn´t an easy song.
Nope.... I'd say he was impressed by the way he pulled off the vocals intro with the syncopated piano.
wow it takes talent and balls of steel to audition with Pyramid Song
The faces on those judges look like every radiohead fan, ever
You described me exactly. Critically analysing the song.
Wow didnt know Phil Selway could sing and play piano as well
Right 😂
Also. Thom is one of the judges
Lmao literally
I saw everyone complaining about the falsetto at the end... While I do agree that it doesn't fit the song, I think this is called "The Voice" and he was trying to show that he could hit more than just one note.
This is easily my favorite RH song, and this cover is solid. Nothing beats the studio version of course, but this is very well done.

@@SkinsFirstGeneration no, I just think this cover is abysmal and tried to express that without being too rude
Props to anyone who can keep that rhythm while singing! (try tapping your foot to the piano rhythm)
Tim Peterson
For me tapping with the foot it's almost easy. Singing it is impossible to me lmao.
Its 4/4 btw easiest time signature
@@bruhwastaken3156 it's the note positioning that makes it difficult

Agreed 100%
Matt Floyd yeah that a really hard thing to do singing thom york ... that was really good i think :)
That's because there is only one thom York and one radio head.
we had him as our musician teacher last year :)

I'm a big Radiohead fan and I still don't understand the rhythm and science behind this song.. I just know what it does to my soul...
I’ve at last found out I can follow this syncopated rhythm as 3/4 plus 2/4 plus 3/4, for a total of 8 beats.
@@stephenfw and it makes a pyramid
it's 4/4. The drummer just needs to ignore the piano. :)
The rhythm is a swing pattern. Not widely used in pop music
All I know is I cry when I hear it. It is a very powerfu song

He did it for family

That smile Tor gets at the end melts my heart! Such a genuine and beautiful smile! :)
One of the Best auditions ever in the whole world
I bet you right
Da fuq is this song doing on The Voice?
:d
Hanging around
Cookie Corner hahahaha good one!
I was thinking the same then I saw the word "Norde" and got it. Everything is possible in Norway
Glad it is, I like it better than the original
I would have pressed it when i heard the first chord. One of the best, most beautiful songs ever created, and as said, one of the most ballsy vocals
Omg, I love when he's smile. Is very beautiful, a fabulous cover!

Impressed he even did this song, more impressed he managed to keep in time with the distraction of the judges turning around.
I listene to this once a year, and everytime it blows me away!
Daring song choice! And an excellent execution of it! I love the smile on his face at the end.
This is an excellent cover. :)
This is a great song to choose as it always brings out emotion.
Judge #1 hit his button right on the beat, you can see him counting it off.
Sure, let's go to the audition and nail the most difficult song in the world!
I was just happy to see a song I love and then WOW he did such an amazing job!!!! I love you, random guy

I cried when I heard that. Who would ever try that Radiohead song? and it was perfect!
Awesome cover !
great performance, bravo!
Sondre knows his stuff.
It's nice to see this kind of voice get recognition, as I think in US he would have a harder time getting the buttons pushed which is crazy to me
Thanks Tor.
He truly has the power of Thor.
What a difficult yet beautiful song.

What a beast love pyramid song
The man has got a beautiful smile . God bless him 😀😀😀
Great song and great performance
Badass. Playing the piano too. Not easy.
It was a masterpiece, thanks for that
It was all going pretty well until the last 20 seconds. Why did he suddenly go high pitched?
+Richard Twine doing some high pitch shit like that seems to be a prerequisite to participate in these kinds of shows
+Richard Twine Justin Timberlake out of nowhere!
because he's trying to show his range more than doing a perfect cover
because you were under the piano, doing things.
I have to give some credit to the band aswell. Especially the drummer :)
I can't believe that this song is in place like this xD
Omg amazing rendition!!
Sondre brukte ikke mange sekundene på å gjennkjenne kvalitet der gitt.
