I had a Dominator pipe on my F650 BMW and was impressed with the pipe and the incredibly fast customer service. BUT the pipe is LOUD!! They sent me a free “DB a killer” and it was still loud. Like neighbors shoot at you loud! I bought a EBay sri her and modified it with a movable plug and also added a stainless steel pot scrubber to the stinger. Bingo. Still ran great, still had so e growl to the soi d and the scrubber worked as a spark arrestor too. Bingo, that worked great. Great pipe at a reasonable price.
I just bought a DR650. The clutch safety switch for starting caught me by surprise. It requires a 'full' hence, 4 fingers pull. Thereafter the gear changes are ruff (clanky) with 2-fingers clutch pull/control. Can the clutch be set for 2-fingers or must I adapt to 4-fingers for dirt road riding?
Big thumpers never sound great with loud exhaust. Way too rappy. Maybe it’s the high pitch. There’s no meat to it. I find the 40f0 GSXR muffler to be ideal. Nice tone but not obnoxious. Nice riding though
If you hear a fully piped one in person it's super bassy not really high pitched. Honestly I think it's one of the better sounding thumpers out there. Very meaty tone.
I never got to experience the stock carb. I just bought a relatively unused 2013 that had the tm40 pumper carb installed. After watching this guy and others tear it up I can't help but wonder if I'm just burning more fuel unnecessarily Oh almost forgot, love the video!
@@ledman9135 I did only two mods - exhaust and 145 main jet, also there is no snorkel on the air filter box. For 155 you have to do lots more than I did :)
@@gabrieltiso8537 I dont know about other carbs, but stock that I have runs just fine for me, it pulls smooth and strong from very very bottom revs to the red line, litterally I dont know what could be better at all. I had Aprillia Pegaso 650 with injection and I did not see any differencies in performance :)

I ride my Xf650 freewind with the Dominator pipe without dbkiller and don't give a fkkkk 😊

You only need to completely pull it when you start the bike. You can adjust the engagement point to your liking.
